Japanese right-wing news paper 産経新聞 reported on June 4 that PLA Navy test-fired a JL-2 SLBM on May 29 in the Yellow Sea. (For instance, in Japanese ’†‘A‰©ŠC‚Å’e“¹ƒ~ƒTƒCƒ‹”*ŽËŽÀŒ±‚©@“ì•û‹’“_‚ÌŒ´ö“‹Ú‚Ö (1/2ƒy[ƒW) - MSNŽYŒoƒjƒ…[ƒX)

The Japanese further postulated that, since the missile flied low and in short distance, it could be 1) a mock warhead was mounted. 2) only under water test of missile body was attempted. 3) a failed test.

This repost first appeared in Chinese media Ming Pao News of Hong Kong, and then was widely spread in many Chinese forums.

Reportedly, an improved JL-2 can reach 14000km, and can be launched from Jin-class (Type 094) nuclear-powered submarine, which is capable of charring 12 such missiles.

Oddly enough, there seems no any English medium that has reported any thing about this test.

Is it just a whine of Japanese right-wings?
