China successfully launches first Mars mission

Dont spread fake information.
Russia was the first to land on Mars and send a few photos .
It landed in 1971 and 1973. Nearly 50 years, half a century before china.
.

China also uses the European space agencies tracking and control facilities in all its moon and this mars mission. Its a technical requirement, which you can google. Not going to spoon feed.
LOL.. Do your home work properly. Russian never successful send a working rover to Mars and China going to have the breakthru even the rover will work for a day and move an inch on Mars.

@Han Patriot was not spreading fake news, he said USA is the only country so far that has successfully landed with a working rover on the planet. Mars 3 had a lander including a tiny rover inside but communication was lost after 20 seconds during transmitting data to the orbiter and the rover was probably not working. The 20 sec only resulted in a grey background with no details. Technically it did land but with not a single photo transmitted the lander became useless and not to mention the rover. Indian moon lander also landed on the moon, with no image and data transfer back to Earth is it a success or a failed mission?
Also the Soviet rover is not exactly what you call a rover, squat box (25 cm × 22 cm × 4 cm) with no wheels.

Ok. Whatever. As a space enthusiast, i look forward to all space missions.
Not going to make this a d..k measuring thread.

There was once a legend that the Russians did in fact land An “above top-secret” probe

But that probe was obliterated by an artificial force Of immense power not long after landing.

Didn't you say people were cheerleading to all space missions because of Chinese Mars mission? Now you call yourself a space enthusiast looking forward to all space missions? Dick measuring was done by you and since you utterly failed you are backing down. Good that will teach you to be humble, as it now stands India is a nobody in Space tech. China has achieved a number of things that were never done by NASA before which are praised by American space scientists. I suggest you pray for your next Moon mission to be successful or you just end up being mocked for the 2nd time as Indian Space Power.

May you live long and prosper.

Mine is a star trek reference, whats yours ?

As was mine. Spoken by the same character as yours was.

Although at that point in time he was not yet an ambassador but a captain.

Russian landed and didn't managed to deploy the rover. Even that lander failed after a short while.

The lander survived only 14s.....and no rover was ever deployed. Transmitted image? It transmitted a gray image with no details.... If that was successful thru crash landing into moon like Chandrayaan 1 or 2 is also successful. Lol

Why is the rover landing in May 2021? why wait?

The orbiter is mapping the planet for the next 100 days or so before deciding the best spot to have the lander take the dive. NASA is prohibited to work with Chinese space agency so we do it ourself. NASA has detailed mapping so Preserverance can dive straight into the planet once it arrives.
