Sure, CPC is more efficient at getting the work done in a timely manner and people are happy, but that is only because everything is hunky-dory now. Once these people who have been mass shifted from rural areas lose the jobs as a result of present economy crisis leads to massive social unrest. These things never come out in open because all the media is controlled by state.

Aren't you contradicting yourself? If the government can suppress negative news, how can you get the “Thousands riot” news?

Simple thing: the government can't suppress it, not to mention to suppress it for ever. CPC publically acknowledge the mass discontents in their official publications.

The lower level officials are the ones that having problem, IMHO.

My point is not to say what India should or should not do. Instead, I try to imply to you: think about yourself first before you pointing your feeble fingerer to the others’ problem, like this:

Practically speaking, Chinese people are powerless politically. They are at the whims and fancies of CPC members. I don't know what qualifies them to rule china without any mandate from people. Hopefully, our Chinese brothers realise this soon.

If so, with the same logic, can’t somebody enumerate probably more problems in India to demonstrate that India government is not qualified to rule India?

Why do western artistes think they can get more publicity by criticizing China on subjects they have little understanding of? I used to find Richard Gere comments about China really annoying and pointless but he has become the spokesman for anti-China agenda. He should stick to acting and leave politics to the politicians and diplomacy to the diplomats.

By fanning-up official reaction from the Chinese government, those smart businessmen immediately harvest a free advertisement to 1.3 billion people, plus many billions more worldwide. It’s all for free! Free!

The stupid Chinese government often falls to those businessmen’s trap.

If I were to advice the Chinese government, I’d ask them just to kick those businessmen’s butt quietly but relentlessly, and put theirs and their parent companies in a black list.

BTW, Mr. Gere is Dalai Lama’s student. You shouldn’t be surprised at his behaviour after knowing the fact.
