But, it could be a placebo effect. False-positives and false-negatives are enigmatic thing to track in medical industry.

Well rectal temperature is checked for infant babies. Because infant can't put thermometer in their mouth and hold.
When was the last time they checked your temperature rectally for you?
You can't compare this with anal swab testing for corona virus.
