This is actually slightly misleading.

For people who are not knowledgeable about these issues, you must understand, that fabless means chip companies who don't have fabs.

Which means that Intel is NOT INCLUDED in these rankings.

Intel is a chip behemoth, the Godzilla of Chips.

Apart from this, many companies shown in the list of other nations are actually US companies.

For example, Avago (Singapore company) acquired Broadcom (US company). So most of the other countries share is actually Broadcom disguised as a Singapore company, while it still remains a US company for all purposes.

Greater China has a total 28%. Which is still only slightly higher half the US share.

Lots of room for improvement. No wonder 13th 5-Year plan attaches great importance to IC industry.
