China Is Likely Seeing 1 Million Covid Cases, 5,000 Deaths a Day

What happened to Uyghur Muslims, are they all saved now, out of detention camps ??

MBS and all other Islam leaders have spoken : Uighur are living comfortably in China and all Uyghur got abuse come from Anglo Jews.

oh thats why all attentions being paid to COVID in China, after West successfully saved Uyghurs

Omicron is far less virualent and its impact is far less that the alpha variant. Now is the time for China to get out of its virtual prison.

People are adults and if they have chosen to not vaccinate - then that is their personal "adult" decision and they must see through the consequences of their personal decision making...

Several to 10 million++ died in India - China's tally will be far far less..

You cannot escape this virus - it is here to stay - but i do think the Chinese goverment made a hash of its vaccine strategy ( should have gone for the astra-zeneca if they did not trust mRNA technology etc ). They may have found better uptake in its population if it was billed as a UK vaccine as they may have perceived it more trust worthy ??? I dont know - but i do know that chinese people dont trust the accuracy of medicine testing in china - must be some bad history there somewhere..

I have spoken with some Chinese people - and the low uptake of vaccines was due to the people not trusting the goverment and the quality of the vaccine/side effects.

Even if China reverse engineered the AstroZenica vaccine and gave the population a nod and a wink that a specific local brand was actually an AstraZeneca facsimile, it would allow them to split the difference. Adopting a western vaccine in all but name, without going for an mRNA vaccine they have persuaded the population wasn’t safe.

But natural immunization and herd immunity will take a few months (probably a month or two after the lunar New Years, when the most virulent and/or contagious variant at that time spreads and the population gets natural immunity from it), like everywhere else in the world, now that China has opened up. By the summer, hopefully, the world will be past this pandemic, by and large.

Since the start of the pandemic I found this chart, and it’s the one my colleagues have been comparing the current pandemic by. I have been posting this chart on this forum for the past two years now. If you assume 1918 is equivalent to our 2020, then the large wave in 2022/2023 is expected. The difference is now we have drugs (such as remdesivir) to improve the chances severely infected people survive. I know the graph is off by a year, but let’s attribute that to the Chinese lockdowns. Many people will get infected this winter, in China and globally, but at the end of it, the population will have achieved herd immunity.

I m in Beijing,it's not really that bad, prices are stable and all supplies are in abundance, it's true that everyone I know including my whole extended family got covid in just one month, but no one I know develped anything serious, it's worse than common cold but not too much, now Beijing almost obtains herd immunity, this covid thing will be over within a couple of weeks at least in Beijing.

mRNA vaccine is not approved for use in China except for foreign citizens. A good measure to say the least.

Xi is weak, chinese gov has no choice? Interesting that you say it.

It takes a lot of resources in money and manpower to maintain the zero-covid policy. If it's not supported by the public, then there is absolutely no reason for the government to enforce it. Afterall, whatever the result will be the responsibility of those who made the demand. The government have already performed its duty.

Same over here in Shanghai, mild fever but some described the muscle pain as bad. So it's not all hunky dory, coughing was minimal. Estimated recovery time is 3 to 5 days. I am yet to be infected despite being exposed multiple ple times and wearing no mask. 20% of sinopharm 3 dose recipient seems to be immune.

If this is true...

Then this is not OMICRON.

Instead a new variant of Covid-19.

I can say, the whole world needs to be prepared.

It's all over again.

Covid-22.
Suddenly omicron became a Chinese variant, wtf. You mofos let it mutate into delta, and now blame us when omicron spreads.wtf

Well Chinese have this thinking, if i can, i will do it. Remember we are lucky this was a mild omicron, if it was delta, we would have been another India. Zero covid worked perfectly for 2 years until March 2022, when omicron came. Now we have to follow the US way, LET THEM WEAK ONES DIE.

I think you have a misconception here bro, China was never under mass quarantine except for Wuhan 2020 and Shanghai 2022. Never was more than 1% of China under any lockdowns. We are not stupid.
Imran Khan made a smart move , we had smart lock downs only so about 30% of pak population got infected in first wave which was very mild and then there was British variant wave where almost everyone got it let's say by then 70-75% have had it. By the time delta arrived we had very minimum deaths unlike India which had a year lock down

Omicron is so far the mildest variant, unlike alpha and delta, omicron no longer hurts people's lungs

maybe only indians can say that they are over this virus. there are just not many old people in India, rarely do you see an Indian live past the age 85

They don't even test now. At least the US still tests some, that's the reason you see a couple hundred dead daily.

Same old approach to defending the govt. - China does everything perfectly! Not sure why the general population feels so obligated to answer on behalf of government in China. It has hardly been 2 weeks since reopening & the govt. is already not reporting deaths (by conveniently mis-classifying them).

Personally, I can also say that I haven't seen a single COVID death but that doesn't mean that we in India didn't go through a bad time.

If Omicron can kill you, common cold probably would also kill you. Omicron is a much milder variant, many infected are asymptomatic.
