China expands nuclear facility to Pakistan, other countries

LeGend has it that MQM is looking to take over Nuclear Plant in Karachi ... only America and Avengers can save the day ..

@Path-Finder

Actually he may have meant that given the Location of karachi its not viable to have a Fukushima.

He may have a Point.

But karachi has a patron saint too unlike Fukushima

I agree, It is better to join hands with China in Developing 'Molten Salt Reactors' Which are incredibly safe in comparison to fission reactors.

Yes.

But karachis needs can be serviced with a combine effort of renewable and safer options.

These nuclear plants should atleast be 100km away from populated areas

In Tandem with Renewable energies. Renewables are still in their infancy. Renewables are going to be part of the solution but not complete solution and that is where safe technologies like Thorium MSR come in.

. .
Thats why we need to put commercial on nuclear and household on renewables
It is better to have a united grid and charge rates accordingly for industry/commercial and domestic. Down the road you can transit to 2 grid system if there is viability.

Ofcourse thats what we probably will be doing in coming years.

Smartgrids and smart homes are not conceptual anymore but practical solutions.

Thank you, bro. Yes, this was my point.

Another is proximity to sea. Climatic conditions becoming unpredictable. God forbid, if a cyclone or hurricane hit the region. It would be disaster of epic proportions.

Its a bad idea to provide nuclear facilities to too many developing countries. Most don't have the funds to keep proper maintenance. Should any meltdown occur they will blame it in Chinese equipment even though it's not true. Than no country will buy their nuclear facilities again

.
Where is Khushab 1,2,3 and 4?
They all are operational as well with 200 MW capacity of all and Made in Pakistan
They are military reactors or plutonium production reactors their output is thermal not electric.

China have played a major role in transforming Pakistan into a nuclear power. Credit where due.

Although I have reservations about nuclear power plants for Karachi. Not safe.
safest plants on the planet..china is experimenting with fifth gen plants(already in trial phases) which means they have fuel pellets that dont radiate due to ceramic cover
