Being plagued by the civil war, Ukraine now is practically finished as a country, but it does have no effect on China's Type 055 project.

So much about China being dependent on Ukraine's gas turbine technology.

Yeah, our initial technology derived from there, but Ukraine has lost all its capability to even maintain the production line, while we are the one who has truly maintained the legacy of USSR's gas turbine technology.

Good but small correction . You stole their technology :P

We bought it, just like the US took the German rocket technology after the WWII.

It was all Ukraine's own fault for losing all the technology.

They were a prodigal son who lost all its wealth later, while we were a poor kid who worked our butt off to become rich.

Is it ? So when did Russia sold you Sukoi and Mig technology or supply line ?

Russia didn't expect that our learning skill was A+.

They were also shocked that we have fully absorbed the aerodynamic concept of the flanker family, while later we have even mounted our indigenous radar and engine on the J-11 family.

That's cool . And what's the point of opening this thread . ? Are you pointing toward indigenously built gas turbines ?

Of course, the latest QC-280 model is about 40MW, which is comparable to the latest model of the LM2500.

If China didn't absorb this technology, then there is no way for a Soviet gas turbine family to rival that of the LM2500 series.

Ukraine doesn't even have the capability to maintain it, let alone to improve it.

@ChineseTiger1986 : I would not bother wasting time with these China-bashers.

Those that have any modicum of intelligence know full well that China can build a diesel engine for ships.

Wait till the Type-55 destroyer come into service and see just how many ships they send out if even a single Type-55 gets within striking distant of their coasts. Their governments are well aware of the capability of the Chinese military industry.

The Type 055 has a standard displacement about 12000 tons and a full displacement about 13000-14000 tons, and it was designed to counter against the DDG-1000 and Arleigh Burke Flight III/IV.

The Type 095 was designed to counter against the Seawolf/Virginia class.

BTW, most countries are way too overconfident. Just see the comments of the PDF members here, and they were the products of brainwashing by their big mouth government.

The Chinese government is always humble whether at home or outside.

Too much humbleness, even most Chinese members are complaining about this.

:coffee: Yes we can !
