China & ASEAN to host 2nd round dialogue on defense & security
China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will host the second-round dialogue meeting on defense and security matters in Beijing from Dec. 11 to 14, China's Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng said Friday.
The meeting will run under a theme of mutual trust and cooperation between security officials, Geng told a regular press conference in Beijing.
Representatives from China and ASEAN member countries' defense ministries, the ASEAN secretariat and scholars from defense research institutions will participate in the meeting, Geng added.
The first-round meeting was held in March 2010 in Beijing. Officials and scholars from the two sides discussed regional defense and security issues during the meeting.
