It's like saying all coronaviruses are the same, this Covid-19 behaves very different from unknown viruses like SARS or H1N1, it has a lower mortality rate but is much much more contagious than SARS, and unlike SARS, which attack mainly young heathy adults, this virus mainly targets older population, SARS dies with hot weather, no one knows what'll happen to Covid-19 after summer comes, Covid-19 is not SARS.

I disagree he is hero. He is the one that causes Wuhan to panic and flood the hospital with non-critical corona and flu with people fleeing Wuhan spreading the virus even more. At that time the virus wasn't properly identified, not even test kit that the west enjoys now, nor the speed of the spread. The overwhelm hospital make the spread even worst to the point that the hospital staff and doctors were cripple with the virus. An organize respond is much better to a disorderly respond. For example in Malaysia, a lot people fled the cities before the lock down. What is even worst, the west took the opportunity to spread dissent, panic and civil disobedient through propaganda using Dr. Li's leak. Even the west lies about the coronavirus to prevent panic. I wouldn't doubt the CPC if its an epidemic. CPC leaders are merit base which make responses far better than any countries, but somehow he decides to complain to the public whose action can be irrational or selfish.

New viruses and symptoms popped up every single day in China, if China locked down a city or a province right after every new virus or symptom appears, the whole nation will be foever being locked down. Study and research need to be do to get to know a specific new virus,can it spread from human to human, how it spreads, how virulent it is...these are a responsible government will do and they all take time, unneccessory public panic kills more peopel, the government needs to make sure what the virus is first.

Check out what US did during the outbreak of H1N1, they locked down no cities or states, the virus quickly spreaded all over the world, US just gave H1N1 viurs a free run. same is what they did to coronavirus in the first 2 months after it was identified.
