China is currently Cambodia's biggest source of foreign investment and that position has just been cemented by a deal that dwarfs all others between the two countries.
A Chinese company and a Cambodian firm have signed a $9.6 billion accord that proposes the construction of a steel plant, a 400 kilometre north-south railway, and a major new seaport.
But concern has been raised about how the deal was struck; the large amount of land assigned to the project; and what will happen to those across the country who'll be displaced.
