In Nepal's biggest ever foreign investment project China's Three Gorges International is to build the US$ 1.6 billion West Seti hydropower plant in west Nepal.

According to an agreement signed between the Nepal government and the Chinese company Wednesday, the latter will own 75 percent of the 750 megawatt project while Nepal's state-owned electricity monopoly Nepal Electricity Authority will own 25 percent share.

Good to see that china is helping Nepal and helping her get out of INDIA dependence.

Thanks! Great move to help a friendly and peaceful neighbour. Nepalese are lovely - the Champions of mountaineers!

Nepal made a wise movement diversification of energy supply.

It will no longer be solely depending on India for electricity to gain further independence of its foreign policy.

Someone from other side of frontier will expect shortage of water. Good move Nepal, China will be alway on your side

Anything good for Nepal is always welcomed.

We are not blinded by hate.

If its good for Nepal, we will always support it.

Nepal was a vassal state of India up untill recently when Maiost overthrew the puppet monarch. They were wrongfully exploited
and they simply didn't have a independent foreign policy. This deal with China shows that they have come a long way from
being puppet and is rightfully practicing their independence.

gud for nepal...they really need some Investment!!!
