Charismatic no more? IAF

Icon to millions across the globe and considered God in cricketing circles, batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is no longer brand ambassador of Indian Air Force.
An honorary Group Captain in the IAF, Tendulkar, it was hoped, would galvanise youth to join air defence, but the legendary batsman failed to produce desire results.
The IAF has now replaced Sachin with the basic trainer aircraft Pilatus. 14 Pilatus aircrafts have already reached India, and pilots are being trained on them in Hyderabad.Indian Air Force had, in 2011, conferred the rank of honorary Group Captain to the batting maestro.Soon after, it started using Tendulkar’s pictures to attract youth. An IAF official conceded that back then, it was thought that Tendulkar would attract youth to join the IAF.

However, following the tepid response the campaign received, the IAF is using Pilatus’ images to reign in more personnel. The IAF has entered into a deal for 75 Pilatus planes with Switzerland. This is IAF’s second blow to Tendulkar. Prior to this, Air Chief Marshall NAK Browne had snubbed Tendulkar’s request to fly a Sukhoi, saying that IAF is too busy for such flights.
Indian captain MS Dhoni, an honorary Lt. Colonel with the Indian Army himself, had also requested to fly a Sukhoi. The IAF had turned down Dhoni’s request too, citing its busy schedule.

Good- the Indian navy had taken such steps a while back. It is nothing but a giant waste of time for all concerned.

And waste of money also. These celebs has does not time to receive highest sport award & even they are in same city then how can they give time to the forces in attracting youth.
They only join those forces to fulfill their dream which money can't fulfilled, Fly a fighter.
