I am very critical of the IEA but I don't think they are stupid enough to do this openly, their main goal is to attack Pakistan from within (TTP) or at the border.

I think this was a rogue IEA member who could have potentially been paid off by a foreign intelligence service to invoke your response exactly. They want to deteriorate relations between states fast.

Our goal with IEA shouldn't be declaring them an all out enemy, it should be leveraging our advantage over them while keeping them close, if they act up then react in private through your own means.

I've spent time in Kabul. And there is no 8-Story Building next to the Pakistan Embassy.

That area mostly has other Embassies over there, but the Pakistan one is mostly surrounded by houses.

The tallest building is a Hospital, but there is a bit of a distance & again there are houses in between.

Although, across the street, if memory serves..., there were a few tall building that were either under construction (at the time) or were already present.

Pakistan is already engaging anti Pakistan forces in Afghanistan with all the associated “bad” and “good” Taliban who their PDF brethern called “Mujahids of Imam Mahdi” aiming their guns at Pakistan regardless.

While Zahid Shah’s Afghanistan was a hostile neighbor, it was a controlled hostile neighbor you could negotiate and reign in if things got out of hand. Now you have brought in a rag tag militia who other than finding women to whip have no other unified command and control and essentially never really liked Pakistan to begin with.

The problem isn't Afghanistan or the Taliban in Afghanistan

The problem is the afghans inside Pakistan, the ethnocentric stupidity amongst our tribals and others is the reason why we have been walking on egg shells for decades

If there were 10,000 TTP fighters and we bombed and killed all of them, fundamentally that would mean 10,000 dead pashtuns and that's where you have the problem, their families, their tribes.
