Changing face of China’s Communists

The best thing about the Chinese is that for all their achievements they are not arrogant, far from it - they are willing to work even harder to get ahead, a role model for the entire continent. :)

In my eyes the combination of colours of our flag yellow&red is not good.Chang yellow to black I think it is cool.

Thanks buddy.

I also think many overseas Chinese don't really know what its actually like in China. Overseas media reports love to either illustrate how China is 100% capitalist (and therefore by implication the government is worthless) or alternatively how it is a 100% command economy (and the government is repressive). Both views are wrong and both are used by Anglos to demonize the government, never mind that they're mutually contradictory. The Anglo media makes everything look black and white when nothing is black and white.

This is why I suggest Chinese members to ask China bashers the following questions when they make idiotic claims:

#1) Have you ever been to China?
#2) Do you speak the Chinese language?

I stand by my assumption that you can't fairly criticize something unless you understand it. A film critic who doesn't take time to watch the film he reviews is an incompetent critic.

I'd say red and white is good, like Canada and Switzerland, but red and yellow is OK.

Yellow and black is extremely ugly.

Communism does not have its roots in the West! Communism is merely a highly advanced form of the earliest hunter gather tribes way of distributing resources in order to make sure the maximum number of people survived: equally. Of course, in its modern form socialism it needs slight adjustments for specific national situations -
I have to admit, not only did this comparison never occur to me, but if it did I would never dream of claiming that Chinese are one step away from being Neanderthals.

I mean our flag should be red and black. This is the extremely cool colour combination used by racing cars even Nazi germany.

Well, Capitalism is basically how dogs and pigs behave in the natural world, survival of the fittest. So yes, if we are Neanderthals...

highly agreed. Red and black is indeed used by race cars and Nazi Germany and it is indeed cool.

Why would you think that? I love the PRC and the flag of China. How is it "basically capitalist" when the public sector is still 30% of the economy and dominates basic industries like power, land, mining, steel, non-motor transport (basically, everything like rail/air/ship, all state owned), telecom and FINANCE? In fact state ownership of basic factors of production is the defining feature between capitalism and socialism. In China the government clearly owns 2/3 factors of production (besides labor, it owns land and capital). There's a middle line between 100% total state control command economy and 100% free market economy you know? It's not all black and white.

If you like the current flag, then it's a choice of design. Communism in its pure form does not allow for any privatization. Privatization is a growing occurrence in China. What I'm trying to point out is that the notion that China is "Communist" or "Red" is incorrect.

China has never ever said it was communist. In fact neither did the Soviet Union. They all used the term socialist and China is indeed a socialist nation. No nation in the world has ever been purely communist (and only 19th century Britain was purely capitalist).

So you want China's flag to reflect that of Nazi Germany?

That won't be well when it comes to publicity.

Hence the incorrect views presented by Western media. It irks me whenever the reporter says "Communist China".

What's wrong with saying the flag of Nazi Germany is cool? Just because they killed millions of people doesn't mean everything about them is bad. I like Volkswagen (another Nazi German invention), does that make me a Nazi?

I think everyone knows that...

China is now the 2nd biggest economy on Earth, and the largest exporter as well. We have had a "Socialist Market Economy" for decades now.

Please note that Nazi Party is not Germany. Just like how the CCP is not China. There's a reason why weinerschnitzel is not called "Nazi" food and why dumplings is not referred to as "Communist food".

Your post sounds as if you are implying that China's flag should be like Nazi Germany's.
