While I agree with your comment, let me point out that ethnic and regional politics in not unique to Pakistan.

Mohajir in Pakistan is defined based on his or her Urdu ethnicity rather than roots in what is now India.

For example, Nawaz Sharif's Punjabi-speaking parents migrated from East Punjab but the Sharifs are not considered Mohajir. In fact Sharifs lead one of the two largest political parties in Pakistan.

As to India, multiplicity of ethnic and regional parties and ethnic conflicts are quite common in India too.

Bhai sahab, we Punjabi Pakistanis believe that all of Punjab should've been part of Pakistan like Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal wanted, but the Sikhs didn't allow it.

Besides, most Muslims from East Punjab either migrated to Pakistan's Punjab or were killed on the way to Pakistan's Punjab, either way Punjab is their homeland. Punjab has been one for centuries, and today East Punjab (Indian Punjab) has only less than 1% Muslim population who mostly live in a city where a Sikh holy man told his fellow Sikhs not to harm Muslims, in the rest of Indian Punjab Muslims were wiped off.

And its us natives of Pakistan's Punjab who invited our Muslim brothers from East Punjab to our homes. Punjab was always their's and will always be their's.
