Dozens of men have been trampled on by "sacred" cows in India during a Hindu ritual intended to bring good luck to those the cattle march on.
A video filmed in Bhidawad village in the region of Madhya Pradesh shows a group of men lay face flat on the ground while scores of others look on as a herd of cattle walk all over the worshipers.

The ritual was carried out Monday, the day after Diwali – the Hindu festival of lights,
as part of Govardhana Puja celebrations.

The purpose of the centuries-old ceremony is to get God to answer the prayers of the trampled. Those who are touched by the cows during the tradition are believed to be blessed with luck.

The cows are decorated with colorful floral headpieces and henna by the villagers before they squash the willing participants.

Education is a misleading term. I have seen PhDs in nuclear physics talk of evolution being a conspiracy.

I agree there. I have seen it myself. People on street who are working in big arse corporate with heavy pay chaque.

But one day its a ritual to feed the cow and dogs. For the better After Life of dead.

Yes they feed their ancester through a cow.

Next morning you see the same cow and dogs eating garbage because of starvation.

How can this be religion this is just their illusion they created themselves.

Probably they need more exposure and question what they are doing.

Religion is reflection of the person's own character, the interpretation they adapt is a combination of culture, environment and finances.

The original progenitors of religions( assuming they all came from the search to find meaning in life) gave a message that was interpreted according to prevailing beliefs and customs at that time/place.

Those sometimes get dragged on as baggage through the centuries especially if they have social or financial profit for any clergy or political movement.

In this case, the ritual helps fuel the local economy.
