That gif is an SU-25 and it is in no way 'strikingly similar' to a L-15.

Good eyes. What was the take off ramp used for? I'm not aware of the Su-25 being used as a carrier based attack plane.

The ramp is simply to simulate the real thing, Russian carrier pilots make atleast 400 simulated carrier take-offs and landings before they actually get to land on the real thing. And, yes, a modified version of the SU-25 operates off of the Kuznetsov.
