Serious, India can't produce it's own rifles?
The new self proclaimed "Superpower" is dependent nearly fully to foreign Arms imports... even from the UAE

But heeey maybe it's build by Indian foreign workers... :rolleyes1:

(no offense)

If anyone is into handguns will know what happened to caracal pistols.
They are pretty fine pistols untill the day they decide to blow the shooter head off.
HOPE they produce rifles with same reliability in india

It has built several. One new design was thrown out the wind because of a requirement change, one was produced in a hurry because of that same requirement change. Somehow that needs to compete with foreign designs that are relatively ironed out. First know what you're talking about.

Hmmm. Let's see.

Producer of the best bolt action rifle in history, the Ishapore Rifle, a modification of Lee Enfield.

Producer of INSAS that worked without any complaint from the forces in every possible climate, after the initial batch's complaints that critics still have to quote.

The newest INSAS was ignored thanks to a change in strategy of the Army. 7.62 instead of 5.56. But variants in various domestic forces.

Made a new 7.62 rifle in a matter of months and sent for trails that has one of the lowest recoil for a 7.62.

JVPC, AK clones on top of this.

Don't tell us. Tell your armed forces.

I'm sort of okay with them so far. They used INSAS all these years without complaint.

It's their change to 7.62 that caused the issues. Otherwise they've the latest INSAS ready to go. But it's still almost certain to be ordered in lakhs as carbines. It's the 7.62 requirement where the homemade rifle is unproven and thus weak against foreign.
