What's new

Can you shake hands with local girls if you travel in Pakistan?

It's like saying all pakistani kids can be raped by their madrasa teachers . pot calling the kettle black .

I know it's hard to meanie that pakistani girls can play football wearing those baggy Burkha .
But they did tried and got trashed by indian girls .:P

The Indian girls are fit because they run a lot away from rapists but also a lot of them are labourers in the fields.

Any way as the Pakistani girls gain experience and train more then they will start winning more.

Good to see, nice to hold. If it breaks, consider it sold.

I prefer not even looking. :D
I am scared.

Can you shake hands with local girls if you travel in Pakistan? This video tell you what you can do and what you can't do when traveling in Pakistan, in the end it encourages more Chinese to go traveling in Pakistan.

Yes you are. And no you are not. Kt depends on 2 things.

1. As Pakistan have a very diverse culture. So it depends on where you visit in Pakistan. The location and its culture.

2. Is the girl you want to shake hand with, is willing to do so. ? I beling to a conservative culture and yet we shake hands. But maybe you, as an outsider, they try to refrain themselves from doing so.

So inshort, its a case to case thing. And there is no punishment (Legally) for shaking hand with opposite gender in Pakistan.

@rott , the good thing (or in your case the bad thing) about Pakistani society is that we regards and respect ladies too much. So even inconvinient looking at girls is considered harasement and tye nearby people will try to stop you from doing so. Its not they will lynch you (dude, its not india). But they will try to stop you from doing so. But if the girl is OK with you looking at her, or talking to her then no one will care. As they say in pakistan “choro hamy kia”. It literally translate to “leave it. None of our business”.

Hard sandals or soft sandals? Could make a difference. :P

Anyway, I never shake hands when traveling overseas, unless I am certain it is correct. Much easier just to wave or do a slight bow.
I was just kidding...no one will beat you but mostly decline or frown upon such an unexpected offer against the tradition but it differs and many shake hands as well but I'm talking about the majority so to be on the safe side first learn the community surrounding you. It is like even in China, girls don't like to hug strangers in public while in many countries hugging is okay...so every society has a different limit.

Even in Europe, I do not offer my hand first for a handshake if it is with a female and so I wait & see. If she offers, I shake her unwillingly because I don't want it to escalate into a feminist campaign against me.

Here a woman got a little irritated because I was opening doors for her as a token of respect but since she believed in "equality" so she rushed to open the next door for me and it was pretty heavy  and she winked at me and raised her eye :azn: victoriously . Cute ain't they :)

Educated and cultured pakistanis are not against it. But most are still living in stone age so better not to try .
Whats educated n cultured about shaking a ladies hand?, the class u r refering to is considered as "beghairat" here in Pakistan, the one without honour, dont confuse that with the educated class.

What the hell you are talking about? This is part of our culture and only a small secular minority is practicising otherwise male and females do not shake hand in all spheres of society except for seculars

Exactly, most of the females in my extended family are highly educated through some of the best schools and hold professional degrees like MBBS, BA Architecture, Masters in various sciences, IT etc but none will shake hands with na-mahrams and the same is true for most of my friends and their families though I have a few who are too liberal..
