Can someone recommend a book about history of urdu?

I have tried on amazon but to my utter surprise I couldn't find a single book..there are quite a few books here in south india about the influence of grammar of dravidian languages on Indo European languages...
I want a book which includes how arabic ,persian and turkish languages and their grammar influenced the development of Khari boli into hindustani(or urdu)....a scholarly work.
It is surprising that no one cared to write history of a language that is spoken by around 35 crore people as their mother tongue and understood and spoken by another 60 or 70 crore people
