Can somebody give me a brief on Karachi's situation?

I used to live in Karachi and still it's my home town in Pakistan. Last year when I visited I saw garbage everywhere, infect sindh Govt allowed to dump garbage within residential areas, my relatives said, because of 18 amendment Karachi is "lawaris". But I noticed one thing that my relatives Dont talk much about Karachi specifically rather they talk about whole Pakistan.

Right now local government is being governed by MQM & PPP, they both blame to each other but the truth is that both are corrupt to the core.
Next time karachits should vote for PTI candidate in local body election and for this PTI should nominate the candidates.

West is from MQM (forgot his name). It is believed that PTI secretly voted for him. Tough fight was between pmln and mqm guy and case went to courts. South's chairman is Malik Fayyaz from PPP

What has changed since the change of power?

Is local government performing even moderately well or not? If so, what's the source of the issue? What are the ambitions of federal government in taking over the control?

Does PTI have any chance to come to power in the city through the election. And if so, what is the action plan they have for the city?

I tried to learn how the system of local governance works in Karachi, but after reading public sources for 10 minutes it became clear that understanding that is beyond my ability.

Yup I am lucky I am not living there. Well MQM is crap. PTI should have nominated the candidates for local body election.

Basically, infrastructure is horrible. Instead of growing it with the increasing population, it's not even maintained.

In example...
The body responsible for maintenance of roads doesn't pay any heed to complaints in August and September because it's rainy then. So the sinkholes created, and roads damaged, are left like that till October. Even then they only add sandrocks and fill the holes in.

Trash... don't ask. No proper system. God knows what Sindh did with the trucks China provided for trash collection in Karachi, barely seen few in the city, the few were in a horrible condition.

No proper traffic regulation, it's horrid and the need of a proper public transport system is an emergency.

No accountability for construction companies. They build buildings and damage public property in the process and no one holds them accountable.


Many, many more similar problems.

Karachi has been the same, the only thing which has effected is the umployment rate which has skyrocketed, there is no employment and inflation has doubled every price, paying salary has reduced though, the garbage situation has got worse. infrastrcuture has got worse, traffic is now worse as well, conditions have practically become unbearable for middle class and lower middle class people.

Only one positive difference is mobile snatching has reduced, can take out smart phone without fear of getting snatched.

when an elected mayor is jailed for six months after getting elected and then magically comes back and then deputy mayor defects for a 'shady' party, then its pretty clear who is ruling the roost, not saying the guy from central district is a saint, but im saying he's a mere puppet just like the rest.

Yes indeed mobile snatching figures has reduce btw just so you are aware the credit goes to leeennndiiii kutas so if you have one around your neighborhood look after him as he has turned out to be more loyal and worthwile than the govt and their departments of all levels (A-z)

Mustafa Kamal is done. He was played by establishment after the attempt to consolidate parties failed or maybe it was part of the plan. He was humiliated by establishment when they took his votes away and gave it to PTI.I also predicted for him to take the city but I wasn’t surprised to see the results because political engineering is part of our politics.

42 years of my life in this city, i dislike NS but I wish we had a person like Shahbaz Shariff running this province he would had done wonders for Karachi at the very least.

It has to be the most diverse city in Pakistan where we have people from almost every part of the country yet this city does not get the due credit, dues or attention it deserves. When you go to other parts of the country and people find out you are from Karachi the kind of reaction we get is like they have met an infectious disease or something which at times can be outright hurtful.

PTI also following what others have been doing, Alamgir Khan sb nai FIXIT kiya kai nahin he sure did fixed himself up nicely in National Assembly ... sb chorun baich rahay hain bc
