The one disadvantage of Gwadar compared to Shenzhen is that Gwadar is not located within major population areas in the surrounding hundreds of km distance, that make the development that more difficult. But, Gwadar should be able to attract all the talents and supporting resources from all Pakistan and to a certain degree the world just as Shenzhen was supported by all talents from China and also Greater China sphere.
True, Gwadar is a pretty remote place. Its near the Emirates though.

At the moment nobody, but somebody new will come into Pakistani politics.
Deng was able to carry out reform becos he had good support and respect from party cadres and gov officials. Pakistan needs someone like Deng that commands the system to initiate the reform and make it success.
