Can anyone recognize this predator ?

watch the video please, if its possible for you to recognize this predator?


he has orange eyes, usually I saw him in winter, but he is still here, this time around, they are a couple and daily eat 2 sparrows, which has reduced them to quite a low number, the poor sparrows as I have observed cannot recognize him as a predator and are a easy catch for him...

he only eats sparrows, Bc kaway kiya pehlay kam thay k yeh bhi aa giya hay bechari chiriyo ka dushman...

anyone knows the name of this predator?


yeah he was holding a sparrow, he just killed... :angry:

To me it looks like a grackle.They are notorious sparrow eaters.

hmm...

it has a bit bent peak. and had a dove colour, the sparrow, as I said, dont recognize him as a predator.

it flew away, otherwise I would have taken a closer shot. anyway thanks alot,

holy crap... its Shikra, damn I didnt know it comes in plain colours, I remember once it came at our place, injured it had spots all over its body, so I just assumed this is some other predator !!

Apparently the young shikras are spotty, in adults the spots are less prominent. The one in your orchard is probably a trained one. Trained to kill, which is what it is doing.

trained? what do you mean trained? it seems like a free rider, wasnt stringed or anything.
