That's how it's always been in Peshawar and kpk. Only old ladies wore burqas.
Its a good thing. Face hiding hujab burqa is unislamic and wrong.
Burqa is not required by a Muslim woman except if she chooses by her own free will to guard her modesty if required (some women live among perverted societies)
But Shalwar Kameez on its own is mostly unislamic, specially when its so good at showing curves and dimensions of their body, while some of that cloth can be even more revealing/transparent than the outfits worn by the mushriqeen and the vile women.
A woman is to wear a dress that does not show dimensions of her body nor the hair.
Anyone not doing that is creating a fitnah for herself and those who come across her.
And men who prefer their women to drop hijab/loose clothing and become fashionable are actually the most vile amongst men as in Sahih Hadith and not worthy of being labeled men. Because to be a man is to by synonymous with honor and being extremely protective and jealous for one's women folk. To protect them as precious jewels from the preying eyes of animals in human skin.
This is for the Muslims amongst us to learn from. For others who just claim to be Muslim or hide behind the name of the religion in their absolute ignorance and hypocrisy. They will keep going the path of darkness whether they are reminded or not.
It's not unislamic. It's just not required or forced but a personal choice to maintain one's modesty.
Hazrat Fatimah did not want her dead body to be carried to the Janazah prayer in front of men even fully covered, it;s called modesty...
Shalwar Kameez is the Pakistani national dress, so good.
Women aren't items, they're humans.
Its a start. Hopefully hijab and burqa will be totally replaced with dupatta which is more in line with our cultural norms.
I am a proud original Pashtun and my women wear burqa, the one that Pathans are famous for. The ones America shows of repressed Afghan women on media, that ugly one.
