BSF to teach BGB how to do yoga
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel take part in a yoga session on International Yoga Day at BSF headquarters in Khasa on the outskirts of Amritsar AFP
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has offered to teach yoga, a spiritual and ascetic discipline which is widely practiced for health and relaxation, to Border Guard Bangladesh personnel.
The proposal was floated during the 44th director general-level convention between the two paramilitary forces, ended to Tuesday, according to a joint press communiqué.
Along with yoga, the two forces also agreed on to participate and conduct in confidence-building acts like joint training, joint exercise, adventure training like: kayaking, rafting, cycling, rowing, mountain climbing etc, joint band display with cultural programme; exchange visits like BSF/BGB wives welfare association, and school children.

BSF will also sponsor scholarships for selected brilliant children of BGB members in Indian Medical and Engineering colleges, reads the press communiqué.
It is to be noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made yoga a mass movement in his country and stated multiple times that he believes in building a healthy nation.
Earlier in 2016, nearly 2,000 BSF personnel enrolled in an “intense” yoga programme with Baba Ramdev – a highly popular spiritual guru – to reinvigorate the spirits and embolden the strength of the men.
BSF Director General KK Sharma has also expressed his reverence towards yoga before. He called yoga a “stress-buster” which will serve the servicemen to a large extent during their posting.
