3 alleged sources, of which we can rule the JI out immediately being little more than political point scoring by the religious right.
The next, an ‘anonymous’ IM spokesperson, a claim that none of the Western reporters writing extensively about the case years later considered credible enough to even mention.
And last, Fauzia Siddiquis claims which, outside of the reference to a televised comment of an IM spokesperson, have no supporting evidence. So really the only credible evidence referenced in all of this is the alleged televised claim, and I’d like to see that, because later on in the BR article Fauzia says that the spokesperson stated on MSNBC that ‘Aafia was practically in FBI custody’. That’s a far cry from the Pakistani spokesperson claiming ‘Pakistan arrested Aafia & handed her over to the US’.
So, again, no credible evidence in support of the claims that Pakistan arrested Aafia and handed her over to the US. Just a bunch of unverified claims that the subject claim is being based on. And the US never had an issue with publicizing the detention of other high level AQ detainees at Guantanamo, so why no information on Aafia’s detention, and why not even a shred of a leak about her detention by anyone involved in it so many years later?
