Hello All,
Here I am presenting the basic information of different weaponary from around the world. Pleease join in with your contributions and suggestions. I am starting with the now famous RPG-29 !

RPG-29 antitank grenade launcher with PG-29V grenade, ready for loading

Caliber: 105 mm barrel; 65/105mm warheads
Type: rocket booster
Overall length: 1850 mm ready to fire; 1000 mm disassembled for transportation
Weight: 12.1 kg unloaded, with optical sight; 18.8 kg loaded and ready to fire
Effective range: up to 500 m
Armour penetration: ERA plus more than 600 mm RHA

RPG-29 grenade launcher has been adopted by Soviet army in 1989, and it is intended to defeat most modern tanks, fitted with ERA protection.
the RPG-29 is a shoulder fired, single-shot, smooth-bored, recoilless launcher. Unlike previous RPG-series launchers, the RPG-29 is a breech-loading weapon, with large caliber barrel, made from two quick-detachable parts, front and rear. Rear part of the barrel is fitted with folding monopod support. Front part of the barrel has the fire control module with pistol grip, trigger and manual safety, the folding iron sights, and mount for 2.7X telescope sight. The trigger unit is of electronic type and is generally similar to the fire control unit of RPG-16. The PG-29 HEAT grenade has a tandem warhead and a rocket booster with eight folding stabiliztator fins at the rear. With this design, the smaller front warhead is intended to set off the ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) block from the safe range, and then second larger warhead strikes the hull of the tank. When used against buildings or entrenchments, the PG-29V can penetrate more than 1,5 meter (5ft) of concrete or brick wall and then cause significant damage to troops beyond the wall. Unlike previous designs, PG-29 grenade has no separate RCL-type launch charge. The rocket engine starts immediately as the trigger is pressed, and burns out completely before the grenade leaves the launcher. The rest of the flight is made under inertia. The warhead is similar in design to the PG-7VR warhead, developed for RPG-7V grenade launcher, but, thanks to the much more powerful rocket engine, the RPG-29/PG-29 combination has effective range about two times longer, than the RPG-7V/PG-7VR combination. The cost of this significant increase in combat performance is much bigger weight and bulk of both RPG-29 launcher and PG-29 grenade.

More About RPG-29

Description
The RPG-29 is a tube style rocket launcher designed to be carried and used by a single soldier. On the top of the launch tube is the x 2.7 1P38 optical sight. On the bottom of the tube is a shoulder brace for proper positioning along with a pistol grip trigger mechanism. A 1PN51-2 night sight can be fitted.

Two projectiles are available for the weapon; the PG-29V anti-tank / anti-bunker round, and the TBG-29V Thermobaric anti-personnel warhead. The PG-29V round has a tandem-charge HEAT warhead for defeating Explosive reactive armour. Eight fins pop out as the rocket leaves the launch tube and stabilize the missile in flight.

The warhead is extremely powerful, and in tests conducted against T-80 and T-90 tanks it penetrated the tanks over their frontal arcs.[1] If these reports are true about frontal penetration, the Russian HEAT (shape charge) weapons engineers have made an astonishing advance as a 105mm warhead is considered inadequate. The French with their ERYX short range antitank weapon stated that a HEAT warhead had to be at least 135mm in diameter to defeat the newer Russian main battle tanks frontally. Its average cost on the weapons market is around 500 US dollars per launcher and 300 US dollars per rocket.[citation needed]

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, significant numbers of the RPG-29 have been passed on from Syria to the Hezbollah, where they have been a major source of Israeli casualties in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.[2]

Give some info about different sensors used in a morden fighter plane. Espically the eurofighter's radar

The aircraft is equipped with a CAPTOR (ECR 90) multi-mode X-band pulse Doppler radar, developed by the Euroradar consortium. The multi-mode radar has three processing channels. The third channel is used for jammer classification, interference blanking and sidelobe nulling. Euroradar is led by Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems, with Indra of Spain, FIAR of Italy and EADS Defence Electronics of Germany.
PIRATE operates in both 3-5 and 8-11 micron spectral bands. When used with the radar in an air-to-air role, it functions as an Infrared Search and Track system (IRST), providing passive target detection and tracking.
In an air-to-surface role, it performs multiple target acquisition and identification, as well as providing a navigation and landing aid. PIRATE provides a steerable image to the pilot's helmet-mounted display.

IN SIMPLE WORDS
It is one of the most advanced operational fighter radar in the world, Its high power provides by far the longest detection range of any fighter radar reported greater than 140nm the original range is not disclosed. The radar is capable of performing an active search on fighter planes without the target knowing he is being illuminated. Unlike conventional radars which emit high energy pluses in a narrow frequency band Eurofighter emits low energy pluses over a wide frequency band using a technique called SST ( Spread spectrum transmission ) , when multiple echoes are returned the radar signal processor combines the signals. The amount of energy reflected back to the target is about the same as a conventional radar, but because of LPI pulses has considerably less amount of energy and may not fit normal modulation patterns the target will have a difficult time realizing that it is being targeted it can target 6 high speed targets at one time and is 3 times better than APG-73 /79. Thanks to the radars multimode capabilities , it will do Air –to Ground and Air –to –Air at the same time. It can not only jam the targets ( Fighter Aircraft )radar but it can jam most electronic system in its path in the air and on ground.

well RPG-29 is a really cool weapon.I would like to brief all my viewers of it operational history and milestones.

During the Israeli-Lebanese conflict in 2006,the majority of Israeli casualties were caused by RPG-29(Israeli claim).

In 2007 a RPG-29 severely damaged a British MBT Challenger 2.This news is confirmed by British officials.

A famous American newspaper called New York Times said that a RPG-29 had damaged an American MBT M1Abrams in Irag.

So i would say that it is a really lethal weapon.I hope it can inflict damage on a T-90 Bhishma tanks.

Armour penetration: ERA plus more than 600 mm RHA

RPG-29 grenade launcher has been adopted by Soviet army in 1989, and it is intended to defeat most modern tanks, fitted with ERA protection.

NOT OVER THE FRONTAL ARC IT ISN"T

Leopard 2 A1-A3 (not equipped with ERA)
Estimated Armor Protection Levels (Late 1980's) against Chemical Energy Rounds (in mm of RHAe)
Turret: 810
Glacis: 520
Lower front hull: 520

Leopard 2 A4 MBT (not equipped with ERA)
Estimated Armor Protection Levels (Late 1990's) against Chemical Energy Rounds (in mm of RHAe)
Turret: 810 - 1,290
Glacis: 710
Lower front hull: 710

Leopard 2 A5-A6 MBT (not equipped with ERA)
Estimated Armor Protection Levels (2002 - 2004) against Chemical Energy rounds (in mm of RHAe)
Turret: 1,730 - 1,960
Glacis: 750
Lower front hull: 750

RHAe = Rolled Homogeneous Armor Equivalent; an equivalent RHA thickness of a given armor type against a given armor piercing ammunition or missile (i.e. Kinetic Energy penetrators, like APFSDS DU long-rod penetrators or Chemical Energy projectiles, like HEAT ammunition and ATGM's). Modern composite (Chobham) armor may be several times more efficient against Chemical Energy than RHA of the same thickness.

Main Battle Tank - Leopard 2
Tank Protection Levels

Likewise:

Challenger 2 (no ERA)
Turret: 1450-1700
Glacis:1000
Lower front hull: 860

M1A2 SEP (no ERA)
Turret: 1320-1620
Glacis:510-1050
Lower front hull: 800-970

Merkava Mk3
Turret: 1530-1650
Glacis: 1380
Lower front hull: 1130

T-80U w/K-5 ERA
Turret: 960-1450
Glacis: 1080
Lower front hull: 500

Ukrainian T-84 w/K-5 ERA
Turret: 1250-1600
Glacis: 960-1040

NB: while these are the best frontal armour equivalent, a tank will not have the same protection at all points on its frontal arc.

RPG-29 is better not used by a shooter against the frontal arc of a tank. Side, rear and top attack is a different matter: RPG-29 shooters will have much better chances of a kill if they score a hit.
