Your phrase was baseless and wrong on many levels. I dont know where from to start but I'l try.

1) U cant advance in Latakia, heartland of Alawites and close to all bases and supply lines at same rate as in lets say Raqqa hundreds miles from bases with no safe roads.
2) Assad captured in Latakia some 300 km2 in 4 months. Assuming that total populated area of Syria is about 80,000 km2 and Assad barely controls half (40,000 km2). it would take dozens of years to take all Syria at this rate.
3) Population wise Assad there was only one large village in rebel Latakia - Salma with 3 K (pre war population). Again totally ridiculous to assume that Assad could capture rebels and ISIS territory with 7-8 million pre war population. Again Assad would need dozens of years.
4) Calculating rates does not make sense because war is not 3rd grade math.

The only force that has done substantial damage to ISIS are the rebels. Asad backed away his troops from East Syria so ISIS could take ground and fight the rebels instead. The only hope I see in Syria are with the current rebel government.

Putin did more damage to ISIS in the first four days then Obama did in whole Syrian campaign along with its allies or puppet whatever u say... also IS failed to gain a single big victory against Assad or anyone else during Russian campaign while when US and its puppet were bombing 80% of Syria and 25% Iraq lost to ISIS, Nusrah and rebels..

without a large ground force and effective support from artillery and the air support the SAA can't do it alone.

ISIS doesnt figure anywhere in anybody's plan. Figures favorably for Asad and Iran as it gives them legitimization for increasing their influences. Arabs are trying to use the same excuse but Arabs are no match for the cunning Farsis.
