Ireland plans to restrict India below 350 to give themselves a chance

Bangalore. Ireland, who plays India here next Sunday in their third world cup tie, are aiming to restrict the Indian team below a total of 350 runs to give themselves “some sort of a chance” to win the match. Considered one of the minnows of the tournament, the Irish team believes that with “little help” from their batsmen, they can upset the Indian team and record their first victory in the group stage.
“Well our next match is against neighbors England this Wednesday, but we are eagerly looking forward to our match against India next week,” Irish captain William Porterfield told Faking News, “It’d also be India’s third match and we think if we make them bat first and restrict them below 350, we really have a game at our hands.”

Irish calculations are based on the Indian team’s bowling performance in their first two matches where they allowed Bangladesh to score 283 and England to score 338 while they defended a total of 370 and 338 respectively.
“306 is what it seems India would score in the third match and lose it comfortably,” Porterfield concluded after undertaking some arithmetical calculations, “But we are not underestimating our rivals. With batsmen like Sachin and Sehwag and a home ground, India could get to 350.”
Ireland had restricted Bangladesh to 205 in their first game but couldn’t chase the total, but the team is hopeful of chasing a target India sets them.
“I guess we can crack the Indian bowling attack,” Porterfield claimed confidently and pointed out that they had beaten Pakistan in the last world cup by 3 wickets, “It’s just a matter of putting India to bat first.”
Irish captain has been aggressively practicing winning the toss and is praying that the toss losing streak of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni comes back to haunt him.
