Thursday, October 20, 2011 – According to local authorities in southern Afghanistan, at least four Afghan civilians were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in southern Helmand province on Wednesday.

Provincial governor media office following a statement on Thursday said, the incident took place in Khansheen district of Helmand province after a civilian vehicle struck with a roadside bomb that was already planted by militants.

The source further added, at least three other civilians were also injured during the explosion.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident but local officials blame the Taliban group for the incident.

Taliban militants frequently use Improvised Explosive Device and roadside bombs as their weapon of choice to target and Afghan and coalition forces which normally leads to civilian casualties.
