Six killed, 70 injured in serial blasts in Peshawar

PEHSAWAR (Zia-ul-Haq): At least six people have been killed while 70 others were injured in three consecutive bomb blasts here Thursday, reports ARY OneWorld.
The three bombs went off within minutes of each other in Kabari bazaar area of the metropolis, located near famous Qissa Khuwani bazaar, says the channel. The bombs were apparently planted in vehicles parked in the populated area of the market which destroyed dozens of other vehicles and shops when went off.
Senior Minister NWFP Bashir Bilour while talking to ARY OneWorld confirmed six casualties in the incident.
Heavy contingent police and paramedics arrived at the scene soon after the blasts and carried out relief activities. Injured were transferred to nearby hospitals where emergency have been declared.
Exchange of fire also took place between the police and five miscreants present in the area and allegedly responsible for the blasts. Two of the miscreants have been killed in the clash with security forces while three of their accomplices took shelter in a nearby house that and were later apprehended by the police after a successful operation.
According to the news reports the militants had taken a child hostage and were using him as human shield for their attempts to flee the scene.
