Bomb blast kills 5 Pakistani policemen

At least five policemen have been killed and twenty others sustained wounds when a remote-controlled bomb went off in Pakistan's northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Press TV reports.

The incident took place on Saturday near a police van in Toor Ghar area of the town of Mansehra.

The policemen, recently recruited, were heading to a training center.

No group has taken responsibility for the attack.

Security forces cordoned off the area and the injured were shifted to a local hospital.

The death toll is expected to rise as some of the wounded are said to be in critical conditions.

Violence has been on the rise in northwestern parts of Pakistan where the government has launched an offensive against pro-Taliban militants.

At least 35 militants were killed and several others injured when Pakistani security forces pounded militants' hideouts in the Herkai area of the lower Dir tribal region in northwest of the country.

The deadly clashes erupted after militants attacked a security checkpoint in the area.

Despite the offensive by the Pakistani government, militants have spread their influence in various regions, killing hundreds of people and security forces in Pakistan.

May the deceased rest in eternal peace, for they died while doing their sworn duty.

I hope the perpetrators are brought to swift and harsh justice.

Its so strange, that on Pakistani defence forum, an attack killing 5 jawans rates 7 replies and a thread about a Pakistani praising Bollywood gets 223 ... I think this acceptance of terror strikes as a regular event which no longer invokes even a sense of outrage is more dangerous for the Pakistani society than the attacks themselves

One or two incidents a month, is news.

A blast a day ceases to be 'news'.

It's quite like what we Indians experience with our Maoist insurgency.

Blasts keep happening but we must move on.

They have actually gone down quite a bit.

Especially the TTP claims, since the kidnapping of 25 boys, and a subsequent blast in Quetta targeting a retd. military officer, nothing much happened. And things appeared very quiet after the attack on the American embassy in Kabul, followed by Mullen's controversial statements.

I wonder why Bilal forget to post this news ?:undecided:
He is very concerned about every indian killed and post that news here with lighting speed.

Rest In Peace.

Death to terrorists & their operators/masters(who belong to enemy countries of Pakistan).
