President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced he has fired his hawkish national security adviser John Bolton, saying he disagreed “strongly” with his positions.

“I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” Trump announced on Twitter.

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House.”

Trump said he would name a replacement next week.

Bolton denied being fired and said he had resigned. The news — coming days after Trump caused uproar by revealing he was canceling secret talks with Afghanistan's Taliban — stunned Washington.

Bolton is a veteran and controversial figure closely linked to the invasion of Iraq and other aggressive foreign policy decisions. He had been seen as one of the main driving forces in the White House's muscular approach to Iran, Venezuela and other trouble spots.

As often in the Trump presidency, the abrupt reshuffle appeared to contain an element of chaos.

Trump's tweeted announcement came shortly after the White House press office had said Bolton would shortly be giving a press conference on terrorism issues alongside Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Bolton himself disputed Trump's version of events, apparently saying that the president had not fired him in person, as he claimed, late Monday.

“I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, “Let's talk about it tomorrow,” Bolton tweeted.

More details to follow.

This guy forced trump to cancel the dialog.and the huge fallout that followed . Trump numbers has never been so low.
He fails at both points .
Why was he inviting the taliban to camp David on sep 11?
And why was he cancelling the talks that he has worked so hard for an year?
Trump rating fell and the 2nd year now looks almost impossible . Trump has nothing to show for in the next elections and all of this this because of Bolton and he was fired.

I wonder how many people Trump has fired from his staff... I remember he fired Steve Bannon too.... I think he fired a bunch of other people as well.... I'm not sure if he's crazy or if he's making some sort of clever strategic moves... Trump is a pawn of the Jews so I don't believe the narrative that he's "fighting the deep state"

trumpu chhaa gaya ay, always fires people in his administration in a sudden funny unpredictable manner

he was appointed for his that particular quality ..
He was appointed by the Likud club. The same club that the president's son in law is a ranking member of, almost the entire war and intelligence cabinet was hand picked by Netanyahu and Kushie, all for one express reason......to kill off Iran.

Time for Iran to rejoice, their enemy is gone Thanks to Comrade Trump

Not quite, Pompeo was picked for the same reason...also, believe it or not Flynn and Mattis. All Iran haters..now wait I bet you the Zionist will push for Senator Cotton to get a cabinet post. I will bet my life on it. There aren’t that many major hawks left. Erick Prince, and Tom Cotton are the only ones not yet tapped to take out Iran. Obviously with Bolton out points to the sign of waning powers of either Kushie or Netanyahu or both. Either way not a good day for those f*ckers

Rubio is also an Iran hawk (he's obsessed with instigating coups abroad, from Venezuela to Hong Kong to Iran!).

But neither of them will get it, it will be the other guy whose name I can't remember (he's not high profile and not a senator)
