No, It's showing real India most of the time. By the way, Indian Films/Drams/Reality Show are mostly for Entertainment and they are not some documentary or convey any message. For that, there are different set of Channels. It's same with any other country content.

And Guess What ? Indians don't even know how Pakistan Content are because we don't even watch anything in India. Pakistani people watch our content even when it's made for Indians only. So, It gives all answer.

All that fake, over the top mumbo jumbo just doesn't cut it anymore, it has to be balanced out with more artsy films which are also intelligent and thought provoking.

Bollywood was better a few decades back when even the major films touched upon social issues, morality and the characters.

Take that Akshay Kumar films for example, he makes some of the biggest crap you can ever watch.

T-Faz, I have been reading your posts from quite some time and you sir, are a fine judge of most topics at hand but you are wrong this time. 90s was worst period of Indian cinema not just Bollywood. 50s, 60s, was definitely the golden period but if you look around you might see that the recent Indian movies are much better than the pseudo romantic crap from late 70s to the late 90s.

Or perhaps, the Indian society has changed and our movies have also changed with the times. Nowdays there is no movie which will be unanimously liked throughout India. Bollywood caters to all tastes, be it metropolitan India (Delhi Belly) aspirational India (Three Idiots), regional India (Erindran, Bhojpuri films) etc etc. Some people like the '90s style family movies, and Bollywood caters to them too!! (Take 'Ready' for example).

Common. It's all personal choice. Akshay Kumar is my favourite actor. I really like his movies mostly. You might not like his movies but millions do like. I don't like movies of Karan Johar. But he makes biggest superhit movies. Everyone has different taste. It's all personal choice.

Ur opinion does not matter because this is for indian audience... as the hollywood content has nothing to do with Indian opinion about their movies... this is as simple as that..

That are lots of good movies coming up watch this "shor in the city", 'Tarre zameen par', "shaitaan", etc..

this are very nice and thought provoking movies... there is a lot of experimentation is going on..

Different movies cater to different audiences. Some people like those akshay kumar movies and some dont. Some people watch movies for time pass, some for stress busting & some for appreciating the theme, script, message or acting. And bollywood cater to all such people.

BTW, tharki type of roles suits very well on akshay kumar. I dnt like most of his movies, thoughI dnt like most of his movies, though i like his comic skills very much. He's my fav too.

90's was a period when the transition from more conservative film making to glamourous film making began but the films back then were a perfect mix of conservative glamour. That is why the films from that time are so well remembered, now all you have is glamour and no substance, there should be more story driven or substance filled movies that Bollywood can produce, it has the capacity to do so.

So where are all the more serious and story driven films, its about balancing the more mainstream films with high quality film making to showcase talent and win accolades.

Hollywood continues to balance out big budget blockbusters with excellent films, they even achieve in producing big budget films that are absolute cinematic treasures.

What I am saying is that mainstream dumb films for the masses should not be the ones which are used as highlights of Bollywoods talent but rather they should concentrate upon high quality film making that can showcase their capabilities.
