* Most likely to modernize 86 F-15 C and D..since the US has a similar program..on top of that.., sustaining and developing especially a large fleet of F-15 fighters will not be cheap anyway..

If its upgrade is similar to that of the F-15SA, this means:
New engines
A new cockpit
New avionics
New electronic warfare system
New weapons system
New radar
New pods
New communication systems
New Data Link
Fly-by- Wire system to replace the old hydraulic system
New wings to sustain the work of the fighter
New helmet
Stock of new spare parts
New maintenance contracts
New training contracts
New training munitions

* This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

When I used to work in hotel I came across a RSA pilot and he hated flying. He was like I hate putting on flying suite and helmet because it makes me dizzy. LOL and I was like o_O

why so expensive?
israel could do it in half price
They’re getting new wings, new engines and *stockpiles* of spares. Possibly the hearts of some politicians in the US too...

Thank you KSA! USA is happy to assist as long as the cash is flowing. Enjoy those beautiful machines :enjoy:

Petrodollar effect. Gulf earns a lot of dollars - where else can it spend on them ? the most straightforward way is to spend it back in usa.

Hahahaha, pleeeeaaasse, get off your high horse will ya! You couldn't touch the majority of that and do us a favor and stop portending that Israel is cozy with Saudiya and can suddenly execute deals with it and things like that while your demolishing Palestinian homes and destroying their lives and you think every one will just look the other way? Fix your BS with the Palestinians first then maybe there can be a discussion and also stop pretending you're at the same level as Italy even, let alone the US LOL! We're talking about GE engines as just one item on that list that Israel couldn't sniff. So spare us the delusions of granduer.

That's nuts. That alone is one hell of an upgrade and the redundancy factor involved in that operation is gargantuan. Think of all the cables they have to route for all the moving surfaces including the pedals for the pair of rudders. That means that these will all be done on all the original F-15s that the RSAF first bought that weren't FBW.

New helmet

Let's hope this is not the helmet I'm thinking of.....otherwise, great upgrade for a lot of great aircraft. Mabrouk ya Saudiya.

The US same upgrades will cost $88 million for each airplane F15 C/D..The same for Saudi Arabia..They have done the same with the F-15S upgrade to The SA standard..

No worries..as you already know KSA won't go for those Helmets Qatar went for..
