BNP leader, guard gunned down in Quetta

QUETTA: A leader of Balochistan National Party (BNP) was gunned down on Thursday along with his guard on Quetta’s Arbab Khan Road.

Malik Naveed Dehwar was traveling in his car when unidentified men opened fire at him, killing the political leader and his gunman. Another gunman of the BNP leader sustained injuries during the attack.

The victims were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta where the deceased gunman was identified as Zaheer Khan and the injured as Abdul Samad.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack thus far.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Health Minister Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch narrowly escaped a rocket attack in the Prome area of Panjgur District Thursday morning.

Agencies need to work harder . That's it .

If in a country , an incident happens and only after that the agencies start working then it's of no use . Prevent it from the begining rather than being defensive after the attack.

Even I don't deem the murder of terrorists in mastung as a success cause they already did their job. And agencies were unaware of this all , they're even unaware of who's killing hazara .
Here's no standard security , everyone is allowed to come in the city without any checking and without any question so expect these incidents .

Alhamdulillah . It has decreased much .
But still , the country we live in its unsafe and still terrorists attacked our cities as paraachinaar .
Our agencies need to work more harder and they need modern technology for spying or whatever purpose to prevent attacks from the bastard India in balochistan.
What use is friendship with usa if we can't benefit from their modern security technologies.

ISI has least budget in the world. Go check the budget of other agencies and than you would know. Baluchistan alone is close to size of France so first ask for better budget than talk

YES you want to come up with stupid statistics which are based on lies and nothing else. Your Armed Forces budget is around 8.5 Billion Dollars and in India RAW' s budget alone is around 5 Billion Dollars. ISI get a fraction of the budget and you say It's not a issue budget sucks and always had and yes I know you also fell for 80 % crap but that is big B.S. Yes do you know How many of our guys are sitting in India and around the world getting information and Jadav was not a kid he was a well trained spy and he was not sitting in Baluchistan all the time he used to come and leave after few days and than return after months. As long as pulsis are doing their thing in qabal az masih style in border region we will have issues

Only problem is that most of the forces are tied up elsewhere for the military to currently launch a major Quetta operation, and the Frontier Corps is just a paramilitary 'peace keeping' force. Even in Punjab its impossible to prevent targetted killings, as we can unfortunately see from Ahmadi community living there

I think its definitely on the table though, and some kind of major operation will take place in Balochistan over the next year or two.

Yes because 90 % of terror attacks are prevented if you think those which take are only blasts your enemy was trying to carry out than you dead wrong more from 90 % to 95 % are prevented and we are getting better and would improve further. In Pakistan all major agencies are active from RAW to CIA to MOSSAD to MI6 all are active with combined budgets of more than 50 Billion Dollars and you expect to be the most peaceful country sorry but with current budget that is impossible to achieve
