The model previously known as 750iL, with L standing for 'Lengthened chassis'. It is now simply called 'THE 7'. I have seen the interior, it is a technological tour-de-force...

Yeah, it's too big and disproportionate with the other frontal features but that grill size looks decent on the BMW X7 given that it's an SUV

.
Haters are gonna hate, no other sedan/saloon drives like a bimmer ! Alright, the giant kidney grill appears it is ready to swallow a cow or something similar, but way more easy on the eyes then the Lexus grill.
Ahh the silky smooth grunt of the 3.0 straight six. Too bad the roads and traffics in Dhaka do not do any justice to this Ultimate Driving Machine !

7 Series is nothing but the Dinosaur in the BMW lineup, as a owner of BMW's this is one car I wouldnt buy anytime soon. The front grill is getting uglier with every newer model.

Spoken like a true car guy!

I know the BMW 7 series is luxurious - but I was fascinated learning about a car Toyota makes by the dozen every year only for royalty and heads of state, the Toyota Century.

It uses a Toyota V-12 engine (you heard that right) and costs 180,000. All handmade in Japan. The style is the epitome of restrained, aesthetically refined perfection, as behooves the priciest Toyota which is dimensioanlly larger than RR or Bentleys. The Lexus LS600h is pedestrian by comparison.

Here's an article on how they make them by hand in a special factory dedicated to this single model.

The bond between a man and his ride has always been a sacred one :coffee:.

I don't like the 7 series much as it is a bit too large. I am a fan of the 5 series. 2017 540 xdrive is just pure pleasure to drive.

Since you mentioned the Toyota Century, it brought back memories of the Toyota Crown I remember seeing in Dhaka in the 80's.

Russians, Ukrainians dig this car and think the design is cool, tbh I think it’s rather ugly
2.5 cr is not bad for a 7 series Bimmer considering I heard land cruisers go for 4 cr for the top spec?

Hate to be that one bimmer hater, I would like to disagree and present my case with Mercedes s class... pretty timeless design all across the board

Now if I was a dude who liked to be driven I would probably buy this Toyota over any other luxury car, even over rolls Royce... craftsmanship is just wow

I am into driving experience coupled with aesthetics.
Mercs are nice, but its just that the current C and the E class can make a mule run up a tree ! S class looks elegant, I might think about one once I turn 70.

The turbos on the bimmer straight 3.0 in sports mode have almost zero lag, it feels like a naturally aspirated engine. The thing about the 5 series is you can be doing 120 mph, but it feels like you are doing 80. It seems like faster the car goes, the smoother the ride becomes, the grip on the road is unreal !

Have to agree on that one

It is meant to be chauffeured; people who own this car do not have to drive, they sit in the back and read their newspaper, like the current Japanese Emperor His Noble Regency Akihito. Doors are opened for them and closed after they sit down. This Toyota (even in non-lengthened version) is larger (and heavier) than the current Rolls or Bentley models, necessitating a V-12 engine. Here is a custom-lengthened limousine version used by the Japanese Royal family.

iu

His son Prince Naruhito will ride to his coronation in a few weeks in a fun open top version. Note the prominently elevated rear seat so that the Prince (and his consort) will be better seen, Japanese touch.

iu

The cars owned by the Japanese Royal family (going by Emperor Akihito's values) do not have leather although you can order it upholstered in that material (one exception is the open top above). Leather is considered crass because it is squeaky and noisy. Japanese sensibility and aestheticism as dictated by the Royal family prefers upholstery be soft grey wool which is unassuming, understated, conservative and quiet. Non-violence is also a preference, that does not prefer killing cows for their skin.
