Baloch terrorists known as Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), widely believed to be armed and funded by Indian intelligence agency, RAW have threatened to unleash carnage on the eve of a mega sports event being organized in major Balochistan town of Khuzdar. The event is being organized by civilian para-military forces, Frontier Corpse to commemorate Pakistan Day on March 23, 2014. The events, particularly cricket about which Pakistanis are crazy, are organized every year. However, in order to stop cricket fans from attending any event organized by government agencies, the terrorists identify the participants and kill them mercilessly. This year too, the BLA has distributed a leaflet warning Baloch people of dire consequences.
Frontier Corps Balochistan, a civilian armed force under Islamabad ministry of interior is policing lawless B areas of Balochistan where police has no jurisdiction. It is a favorite target of attacks not only by BLA terrorists but also anti-state media anchors. The retired top judge of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Chaudhari was critical of any move against terrorists because he owed his elevation to top court to Akbar Bugti, a provincial chief minister who got killed in armed struggle against the state. One of the lynchpins of terrorists is a grandson of Bugti.
Pakistan’s armed forces and Frontier Corpse have launched many initiatives for the downtrodden Baloch people who have been suffering under the tyranny of tribal chiefs like Bugti. Army has opened many Cadet Colleges to offer free education to poor segments in order to enable them to join prestigious careers. Similarly Pakistan Navy has established colleges, schools and hospitals to serve the under-privileged.
