BJP chief claims English bad for India, triggers outrage

Jana Gana Mana is written in highly Sanskritised (Tatsama - Tatsama are Sanskrit loanwords in modern Indic languages) Bengali (written in a literary register called Sadhu bhasa). It was written in 1911.

Vande Mataram was written in spontaneous session using words from Sanskrit and Bengali. It was written in 1882.

Now it is 2013. :D

National Anthem was widely accepted because it was Sanskrit ....... not because it was bengali.

Tatsama is nothing but Prakrit .....i.e. spoken Sanskrit. or sanskrit of the common man.

Same is true for Vande Mataram.

Sanskrit is more than 3000 years old ....maybe even 15,000 years old .........it was relevant in 1882 ....it remains relevant in 2013. No reason to assume it will not be relevant in the future too.

Yea sure, and it will soon overtake Hindi as the most widely spoken language in how many years? 10, 100, 1000.

I think my goldfish has higher IQ then you, as you are unable to converse intelligently you revert to calling some one an ***, growup.

Puppies like you should go bark up some other tree..........you are unwanted here. .........now shoo...

In my opinion English is an international language and there is no getting away from it, even if it were possible to have an Indic national language.

However, what is more important is the thoughts rather than the medium of expression. We should preserve the Indic world-view regardless of the language used.

Language is not a neutral vehicle...it carries its own peculiar culture... and the earlier we understand it, the better it will be for protecting our heritage.

Thoughts too require a proper milieu. Try discussing the Upanishads or Soordas in English or Arabic. Can you even come close to its real meaning?

That is true. Something always gets lost in translation, it is never as good as the original.

Anyway, if you look up the world "culture" in the Encyclopedia, the very first word that comes up is "language".

Culture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nobody can truly understand Chinese culture without learning the language to some degree. We have so many sayings and idioms that are used in everyday conversation, that trying to learn it off a purely English translation simply won't work. You need to have an understanding of the characters themselves, by learning the language.

Keep your version to yourself, don't bring it in discussion forum, otherwise if you want to be a laughing stock you can stick to that. Anyways you roaming in a land of fiction way beyond sense and logic. So no point in discussing more with you. Else there will be no difference .... anyways don't use abusive words here, else you'll get banned soon.

Ohh this was just which was missing in the discussion a cherry topping on Ice cream cake, an invaluable comment from a Chinese on Indian Language issue. :D

Anyways I don't think I have enough knowledge to discuss on this with a Chinese member. So

Luckily, because you were never colonized, you have kept your wisdom intact. In India, we have wild theories from decultured people who think they know everything.
