PLA invited to take part in VE Day parade in Russia|WantChinaTimes.com

China's People's Liberation Army has been invited to participate in the Victory Day Parade held in Russia's Red Square on May 9 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany, according to the Hong Kong-based Ta Kung Pao.

Andrei Denisov, the Russian ambassador to China, said President Xi Jinping has agreed to take part in the VE Day parade with a PLA delegation consisting of 60 military officers. In return, President Vladimir Putin will visit Beijing in September to attend a parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day. Chinese WWII veterans may be invited to the parade in Moscow depending on their health, according to Denisov.

Why is it ironical? I will slowly develop this topic.

Vietnamese could take part in this parade, because they sacrificed themselves in that war against Nazi German

Ironic because it was the KMT that won?

Ironic that the KMT were initially friends of the Germans?

CPC's "8th Route Army" captured Japanese soldiers during China Battlefield of WWII, later the Army called "Peoples Liberation Army" during 1945~1949 China Civil War.

Irony Number 1

The CPC Red Army are not fighting the Japanese except for one campaign (Hundred Regiment Offensive). The Commander Marshal Peng Dehuai get shit and fighting Japanese is his cardinal Sin.

Hundred Regiments Offensive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Below is wikipedia

Peng and Mao had disagreed over how directly to confront the Japanese since at least the Luochuan Conference in August 1937, with Mao concerned about Communist losses to the well equipped Japanese. After the establishment of the People's Republic Mao is alleged to have said to Lin Biao that "allowing Japan to occupy more territory is the only way to love your country. Otherwise, it would have become a country that loved Chiang Kai-shek." Thus, the Hundred Regiments Offensive became the last of the two major Communist frontal engagements against the Japanese during the war. There had been controversy that Peng had no authorization, even no knowledge of Central Military Committee and Mao Zedong. As early as 1945 the accusation of launching battle without telling Mao had appeared in the North China Conference. During the Great Leap Forward, Peng's bad temper led to his downfall and then the launching of the battle became yet again a criminal action in Cultural Revolution. In 1967, the Red Guard group of Tsinghua University, with the support of Central Cultural Revolution Committee issued a leaflet saying "The mug Peng, along with Zhu De, launched the offensive to defend Chongqin ... He rejected Chairman Mao's instruction and mobilized 105 regiments in an adventuristic pulse ... Chairman Mao said 'How can Peng Dehuai make such a big move without consulting me? Our forces are completely revealed. The result shall be terrible.'"

No KMT invited to Putin's parade???

Well, most western allies are shunning this invitation, so KMT does not dare to disobey their big daddy USA.

Marshal Peng Dehuai

Stop whining like a little girl.

KMT has no GUT to come to this parade even Putin does invite them.

Now it is CPC who represents China, not KMT.

.
Question:

Why did CPC have to fight the Japanese at all? The KMT was the government in power and had access to all national assets and resources. It is the responsibility of the government in power to mobilize assets defend the nation. It is not something they do because they're nice, that's their job, that's where taxes are going.

Why were Democrats in the US not asked - why did the Democratic Party support the Confederate slave owners during the Civil War? They actively helped the enemy of the Union, not just refuse to fight against them.

Question:

I don't think anybody expects them to fight. It's like if Pakistan was invaded by India you wouldn't expect some seperate Pakistani Taliban army fighting them.

The question is should the Taliban join the Pakistani army in defending the country or just fold their arms and do nothing to help (or worse keep fighting you)
