China Power and FWO awarded the contract . The total estimated cost will be14 Billion USD .
First Phase - Civil Works
Phase 2 - Power House and Substation and Transmission line .

5000MW Power will be generated . 7 MAF water will stored and 35 years Tarbela Dam life will be increased .

After completion of Bhasha Dam and Mohmand Dams and other small dams the Pakistan hydel power capacity will be 16000 MW, which is 50% of total power generation of Pakistan .

Cheap Electricity will be available to general public and industry .

Pakistan is facing shortage of 20MAF of water , unfortunately we are wasting 10 MAF water into sea every year.

Pakistan need to built two more big Dams on Indus river kalabagh and upstream of Bhasha Dam near Sikardu.

GDP growth of Pakistan may increase to 6 % with construction of these two Dams.

FWO is great civil works construction company under the GHQ.

Pak Army and GOP both on same page ,which is good news .

My father built Tarbela Dam and i worked on Ghazi Barotha Dam .

I am planning to come back from Canada and work on this Dam IA.

The donation collected of 12 billion rs also will be utilized for both these Dams .

You know I realized that when it comes to Pakistan - there never is or ever be a good time for anything.

If it isn't an Earthquake, its Floods. If it isn't War on Terror, it's Dharnas. If it isn't Corrupt Politicians, its sanctions. If it isn't IMF, its FATF.

So, my good man, when do you think would it be a a good time when its not: Breaking the Nation?

The Nation is Breaking because we lack such essentials. We've been crying about Power for decades. The bloody Dam wasn't gonna construct on its own. Who knows when this bloody CoVID-19 will end.

Are we to just sit tight until a miracle cure comes to light. Well, by then, the next blowhole Govt. may come (like the past) and sideline the project altogether.

If this Government is taking kickbacks - I say, "Fine, just build the damn thing". Once its starts and gains momentum, regardless who follows will need to make certain its completed.

We need to at least send 5 or 6 MAF water to sea every year to stop the sea intrusion. Our problems lie in storage and management of the water sir.

Please note that BRT was supposed to go through final system testing and configuration before corona shut down everything. It will be completed soon. It is the only 3rd gen BRT project in Pakistan's history hence it is taking a bit of time to complete. The donor agency ADB is completely satisfied with the design and progress of the project.


If PTI had failed so badly they wouldn't have gotten 2/3 majority in KPK in 2018. While the religious parties barely get any seats even in the most religiously conservative province of KPK. So before issuing fatwa on the performance and ability of the government please educate yourself of all the facts and also learn about the democratic process. Thankfully people don't vote for mullahs, otherwise they would drag us back 1400 years. People like you would love that.


Also Mohmand, Daimer and Dasu are all started only because of this government otherwise governments have been delaying them on one pretext or the other. That itself should be proof of the ability to initiate big ticket infrastructure projects. To give all the credit to the army is disingenuous. The same army was there in previous two governments as well, why weren't these dams started then?
