As I mentioned my earlier posts, the changing tactics and aggressive posture, accompanied by better coordination and more equipped has helped the ANSF take the initiative and beaten back all enemy operations thus far and inflicting heavy casualties.

No more talks!

Yes totally -- the ANSF no, due to these "tactics" is a more portent force than NATO was at it's peak of 140,000

Have you heard about: Intellectual honesty and the scientific method?

totally -- that is why re-enlistments rates are terrible -- casualty rates are unsustainable

And, Afghans have been fighting on their territory for generations -- so what is new.

Sincere advice (unsolicited) try to think more broadly in your arguments -- this is not a middle school discussion where we throw off the cuff arguments back and forth.

When you use the argument "Afghans fighting on their local turf" -- this was true yesterday and is true tomorrow -- so it really cannot be expected to change the outcome.

Remember -- the goal here is not to show the other one down -- (at least I hope that's how you perceive it).

. .
Then how are taliban holding more territory than ever before? . yesterday i saw a documentary on afghan forces indulging in bacha bazi and smoking weed all when taliban were not too far away.

How are they going to fight them if they are more interested in feeling young boys?

Ok let's spin it the other way around, NATO forces have gone down from 140 thousand to something just below 10 thousand, the ANSF has taken over the responsibility for the security for the entire country without losing major populations centers this year and thus fighting not only local traitors but a conglomerate of international terrorists and I would say they have done a commendable job thus far.

That is something that needs to be dealt with and people doing this practice needs to be brought to justice. That's a pathetic practice no doubt.

On a related note -- there was an article on CNN -- which had an excellent title -- "
Analysis: Afghanistan must recognize Taliban are winning" -- I did't post (I think) -- I don't focus that much on Afghanistan these days -- the article is here.

The point here is -- if the Afghans wants to win -- they have to have an honest discussion about what is happening. A rag tag bearded set of thugs have consistently pushed back a Western trained 300,000 strong Army.

Clearly something is amiss. If one does not recognize that then no solutions are possible.

Here are some examples of things that are amiss:

1. The rag tag group may have a pretty sophisticate sponsor (ISI)
2. The rag tag group is better able to deliver services that matter to a certain segment of the population -- justice etc.
3. The ANSF has a lot of ghost soldiers -- hence the actual strength is lower
4. The government is so corrupt that the rank and file are not motivated to fight
5. the ANSF is penetrated with Taliban
6. etc.
7. etc.

There is no shame is being honest.

well congratulations.

It is easy to pass if you set the bar very low.

People here forget,Afghanistan was a modern society before 80's,and i am sure it will be one in future.
With time the Afghan security forces will grow only stronger and destroy the Taliban completely.

Below average minds usually have a very short memory span so cant blame them :)

Anyways lets not go even too much in the past, let's look back starting around 2000 and the Afghanistan of today is completely unrecognizable and there is no turning back.

/Peace

All the best ANSF... Talks or no talks ... this madness has to end now... 3rd generation is engulfed in to a war which they have nothing to do with .... Afghanistan needs peace now... So does Pakistan...
