My father has travelled the world. He was a Merchant Navy Captain and he dreads the very idea of having to retire in a Western country.

Changing social behaviors among young ones in sub continent has certainly forced the many older couples or single to live alone lonely in the fag end of there life

South Korea at 67 while China is at 35!
The Korean kids play Star craft all day and forget about their aging parents.

It's not just kids, it's guys in their 30's playing LoL and SC getting their dicks up for some "world championship titles". Like it matters, it's a stupid game for 14 year olds.

It could be one of the reasons why fertility rate is 1.3 while economy is doing fine. MMORPG was probably invented so that Asians loose their lives over it, always chasing titles, achievements etc....it's actually sad.

ndia is the best country for old age as the children take care of parents, like i do to my parents and like father before me and my father;s father before him. In hinduism this is a beautiful culture. others wont understand it.

No, increasingly older people are left behind. Because the families neither have resources, the time or energy to take care of old people.

India is the `BEST country` for OLD people ? seriously ? 40-50% live under powerty line India..Considerable number of them are in streets without a shelter,food or clean water ..Do they all look after the old ? Do old people of all these families get access to medical care and everything esle more than Sweden , USA , AUS and atleast than SL to claim no 1 ? would love to know how you rated India no 1 for OLD people in the world !

The parameters used in this study is necessary equipments, medicine and such for eldery people in various countries. You may treat elder people very well, but if they cant get their medicine in time due to poverty then it is deemed as not a good country for them to live in.

Thats what it is based on otherwise India, Pak would have been a lot higher up the list due to most people taking care of their parents and relatives.

I think this rank system is quite fair..If how families treat old people too took in to an account Sri Lanka will be ranked even higher..

Its all BS they leave their parents and old people oi rot in the old age homes and the confinement just waiting for the death.

While in Indian subcontinent be it India, Sri Lanka, Nepal,Bhutan or pakistan we still care for our parents and can do anything for them. I am talking about the majority of people here.
