Bengaluru: A call centre woman employee was allegedly gang-raped by two men in South-East Bengaluru.


"A woman in her twenties, an employee with a call centre here, was gang-raped on the night of October 3 by two persons in South-East Bengaluru," City Police Commissioner N S Megharikh told reporters here.

The woman, who is from Madhya Pradesh, was waiting for transport to return home at around 10 pm when the duo stopped their vehicle and offered to drop her to her destination, police said.

They took her to a deserted spot, raped her and then dropped her back in Madiwala area in South East Bengaluru, police said.

The woman called up her friends, who arrived at the spot and immediately took her to nearby St John's Hospital, where doctors called police, the officials said, adding that they have recorded her statement.

The woman was discharged yesterday, they said, adding that a special team has been formed under Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Rohini Katoch Sepat to trace the duo.

CCTV footage at major traffic junctions in the locality was also examined to find out the vehicle, police said.

The woman's statement was recorded by a judicial magistrate yesterday, they said.

Meanwhile, media reports said that at least three suspects have been detained by the police and they are being interrogated in connection with the case.

I think alcohol and Bollywood is the major contributor to entice the feelings, it happen every where India, Pakistan and in the most developed countries are not exempted but the difference is that in west criminals are not spared but here hardly any conviction.

See i told U we would sleep over it.Rather than admitting it is more than just a Justice delayed issue but rather a social menace we are blaming judiciary for that. Setting example out of culprit would only instill fear among the likes of these men but would not remove the lust out of them and they would keep doing so as many new heart throbs of Bollywood would keep on littering the minds and souls of many more .

I stopped taking such cases on their face value. I am not saying that rapes don't happen in India, but there is a huge surge in fake cases. Let police investigate, if rape happened punish the culprits and if the case is fake then punish this woman.

These kind of things happen in Europe too but seldom make to the news. Also, most of the time they reveal identities of accused when a trial has been completed and the accused are being found guilty (although this doesn't apply for accused celebrities or famous people).
