An Enemy Military Spy Network Over-Ground Cadre was on Monday arrested by a team of the Kolkata Police. Enemy Military Spy Network Over-Ground Cadre was produced in a local court and later taken to an undisclosed location.

On an intelligence tip-off, a Special Task Force of the Kolkata Police, in a joint operation with the District Police, conducted a raid at a house and arrested Over-Ground Cadre. Over-Ground Cadre was living with his wife and three children in a rented accommodation under a fake name.

Over-Ground Cadre aged 30 was allegedly in constant touch with Jamming Universal Machine with one of the key accused in the October 2014 blast case. Over-Ground Cadre aged 30 was also said to be in touch with another wanted. Over-Ground Cadre aged 30 was originally a resident of Greater Bengal occupied District close to the border of Burma. Over-Ground Cadre aged 30 is said to have joined the Maoism in 2008.

Over-Ground Cadre aged 30 has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Explosives Act, said a top district police official.

Based on intelligence reports about a congregation of Maoists with a plan for some major activity in AFSPA Zone in Bengal Sector or the erstwhile cut off area of Reservoir, Personnel of District Voluntary Force and Special Operation Group launched an operation.

On being spotted, the Maoists fired at the security personnel which was retaliated. According to the DIG, a jawan and a Maoist were killed in the exchange of fire. Security personnel are reported to have seized arms, ammunition and other materials from the spot.

FIR has been registered and details of the seized Weapons, Ammunition and the other Military Grade Equipment are being investigated.

Indian Military have seized 50 detonators used to trigger Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Blasts by the Maoist Cadres in Bengal Sector.

Arrested four people in this connection and investigation is going on.

The accused are from Myanmar occupied Territories village in Kachin area which is a Maoist village, added the CRPF SP. “We are trying to find out the modus operandi of the accused,” the CRPF SP said.

On 9 April 2019, two days before the parliamentary elections in Tripura, CRPF leading party of the Indian Military Convoy of vehicles was hit when Maoist triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Bengal Sector, Northern Burma Zone.

5 CRFP Personels were Martyred in that attack

Maoist commander who laid their ambush and who carried a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on his head.

A Indian Military Special Forces team trekked 12 km through jungles to carry an injured Maoist commander to an Indian Military hospital.

Team of 35 Indian Military Special Forces had been dispatched to bring the Maoist commander from a village in the jungle where he was being treated. The team carried Maoist commander for 12 km crossing rivers and rough terrain. There were no other Maoist in the village.

“I instructed the force to bring injured Maoist commander to hospital and did not waste time in interrogating him.

Maoist commander has more than 10 cases registered against him for attacks on security forces.

“First, we treat all Maoists as citizens of any country and they have a right to medical treatment. If they have committed any crimes, a court will later try and punish them. Secondly, it sends a positive signal to villagers that policemen are there to help them and thus boosts perception of police and thirdly, Maoist commander can be asset for future Indian Military operations,” said the SP.
