Using state funds from Pakistan , and running a private political PPP campaign idea comes to end , as Pakistani Prime Minister decides to end the Income Support program's old name and give a new name to program more tied to Pakistan's income support program

Many uneducated folks assume with pictures and images that the program was being run by PPP when it is not , it's a government run program

The demand was put forward by GDA leader Makhdoom Mohsin.

Sources said during the meeting a GDA leader said the name of BISP should be changed, over this PM Imran Khan replied abruptly “BISP name is being amended.”

It may be noted that the Benazir Income Support Programme was established in 2008 by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani who took the advice of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

The program's name is a tribute to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated in 2007.

Under this programme, poor women are granted Rs 5000 per month.

Well it is important to not Politicize state of Pakistan's issued funding for poor people, it is not Zardari Or Benazir's private money , this money is property of state of Pakistan. The money is generated from Tax collection and surplus from trade

I think this is a great move , Politicians should not append their names to Government of Pakistan's projects

If the fund was run 100% Zardari or Benazir's private Trust or Money then sure you can call it anything you want

• State of Pakistan , Income Support fund , sounds appropriate

Some people asked , well why should we pay taxes where is the money going , well now we know where some of it was going , it was just called under a politicians name so people never realized it was money given by State of Pakistan


Also not appropriate to use Provincial Pakistan funding and when project is completed to name it after a political party figure , the money is issued by State of Pakistan Tax payers

Using personal name and images on government run program is the equivlent of eating your own feces.

If PPP want's to put name and picture of Benazir, they can privatly fund a program and do so.

This is to remind that Pakistan Income Support Program was launched by Musharraf government in 2005 or 2006 and after her murder ppp changed its name to Benazir.
