Yup. It should be higher than that.

It is irrelevant how much car ownership is in other countries, we should aspire to things that matter to us - like child mortality and quality of life - which is better than most in the region.
Praise be to BBS and BAL!
The most uncorrupt, transparent and highest institutional quality organisations in the world:
http://www.transparency.org/news/feature/corruption_perceptions_index_2016
Lol, so with all your cars and and your trillions, you are the 79th most corrupt country on Earth.
Except for your bitterness, what was the point of this information?
The point is, statistics from BD govt are not worth the paper they are written on
India is better in that regard, but nowhere near world class.
But we have lots of private production and data compilation regarding that....whereas what is BD's biggest company that can record that?
Whenever BD govt cannot easily fake (through its corruption), the true reality of BD's miserably weak economy comes through (normally consumption related data). Unfortunately BD social indices are by and large controlled/calculated by one of the worlds absolute worst quality and corrupt govts. A large handful of salt is not enough for anything it claims. Just on this very forum a BAL pamphlet on claimed education achievement was exposed to be completely wrong when looking at UNESCO figures for BD.
You know the worst thing? There isn't even any progress for BD regarding corruption. 2012 score was 26, its still 26 today. In contrast India, Indonesia and many other large population countries are improving quite fast at already better levels to begin with.
As long as BD is stuck in its rut of corruption, my impression of its social indices will not change....and I will bring this qualification as to why... each time someone trumpets it like its some overarching truth. North Korea after all is a big success story according to North Korea govt too
First, you install your puppet that engages in corruption and pursue Indian's foreign policy at the expense of Bangladesh's economical interest, and now you complain why Bangladesh government is corrupt to be begin with, not to mention Bangladesh economy is not at the league of among other nations like China?
At least, you acknowledged that you guys deliberately installed minority-elected corrupt government against the wills of majority to further Indian's economical goal.
that two percent somehow manages to fill up roads of entire dhaka on a working day
Are you an alcoholic to claim this?Made in India cars are exported to Japan,

Enlighten yourself:

Now go back to focusing on how to get your country to buy more than a measly 20,000 cars (15,000 secondhand clunkers) per year.
If BD can be strong and have spine, the onus is on them to prove it. Was/Is BNP an Indian pawn as well? Their corruption was arguably much worse than BAL (esp when it came to military purchases)....ask the BD members here if you dont believe me.
Corruption did not improve for BD under BNP either. It is on BD people (esp elite) to improve their institutional capacity at fundamental level. That has nothing to do with any foreign country or influence.
Nope never acknowledged that. If you have the delusion that the majority of BD people are against India and BAL, then you are welcome to that belief....no one stopping you. I rather gather the impressions from BD people in real life and on this forum too....and the facts on the ground like definite decrease in mass protests (compared to years ago) and consolidation of people behind their leader esp after the Gulshan terrorist attacks (and their implication with such groups as JMB and JEI which have many of their shared roots with the opposition BNP).
Kolkata's road density is not much better. But there are small number of rickshaw and large number of three wheeler and taxi compared to Dhaka, which mitigated the problem.Metro rail also helped. That's because Dhaka's roads are woefully inadequate. It has a road density of around 7%. Add slow moving rikshaws and "vans" into the mix and you ll have the one giant parking lot that the Dhaka road network is.

Because i know i can add another 200,000 in my odometer in a japanese 2nd hand whereas i will be able to barely pass 100,000 in a indian first hand car.
