BD-Burma Relations

These are some recent news,that reminds us that we should not overlook Burma.

From March 22,2009
5 Myanmar nationals arrested
Our Correspondent, Bandarban
Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and members of Ansar-VDP arrested five Myanmar nationals in separate drives from bordering Thanchi and Naikhongchhari upazilas yesterday.

Of the arrested, three are believed to be members of Myanmar Army while two other members of intelligence agencies, official sources said.

Sources in local law enforcement agencies said a team of BDR arrested Sai Tha Loi Rakhaine, Mong Sai Tha and Cha Tha Rakhaine from a pagoda in Thanchi area. The plainclothes persons claimed themselves as member of Myanmar Army, they added.

They said one of the members of Myanmar Army who was on duty to survey a pillar in the bordering area lost magazine of his arms and fled to Bangladesh with two of his colleagues fearing punishment.

The arrestees were taken to local BDR zone headquarters to verify their statements.

Meanwhile, members of the Ansar and VDP with the help of local people arrested Nurul Hossain, 20, and Hossain Ahmed, 18, while the two Myanmar citizens were taking photographs of bordering areas in Naikhongchhari upazila.

They were later handed over to BDR.

Tension runs high along the Bangladesh-Myanmar borders in the recent days as the neighbouring country started erecting barbed-wire fences unilaterally on 200-kilometre land borders with Bangladesh, sources said.

@Pakistani Bachcha:

MODS are offline now,so you are still here.But don't worry you will get the deserving ban soon.

I am sure you certainly don't live in Pakistan.That will be clear when Mods will give an IP check.

Heya Old man listen up,

No one is forcing you to read the thread.You don't like it,then don't read it.

And I am least bit bothered by your onslaught which is going to come in the form of ranting and useless blabbering,words which only you understand.

You can think me as RAW,CIA,MOSSAD or whatever,but that does not bother me.Because your thinking hardly bothers me,actually who even cares what you think.I know for a fact that you are one of those Mollah type of people who actually doesn't know Islam properly but claims that they know everything.

BTW if you try to bring "chanakya theory" or other stuffs here,you will be violating forum rules and I am sure MODS will take care of it.

Myanmar is also a threat to our security as India is.Mind looking at the recent supply of arms that India supplied to Myanmar?Go back a few page and you will find it.

BTW,living in cantonment,does not mean you know all the military matters unless you are a military professional,which you are not.I know a general's son who only knows "Girls,money and party".

You are so blind by hatred that you suspect anything that is different from your point of view,doesn't matter even if it is right.I pity you "Old man".
No one is forcing you to open a thread like this as no one is forcing me to read it. And you leveling me as Mullah type doesn't bother me at all since I don't have that quality to be one (As Mullah means friend of Allah) but don't pretend to know Islam what you don't more than me (I'm judging you from your post here). Now let me remind you that it was not me, who called angelic people like Nizami, Prof. Azam and Mujahid of JI as rapists and murderers by eating Rawamy liar's supplied pills(::Welcome to Daily Naya Diganta::). There wasn't even a single GD against them in any of the precincts throughout the country(::Welcome to Daily Naya Diganta::) and even MUA, FUA bastards couldn't find any irregularities against them after putting them in microscope but time was unfavorable so by concocted stories they would be tried for phony war crime. So, siding with tide, voting Rawamy bastards and opening a thread of Burmese army threat did you not side step real issues?

Ok let's be clear about it now.

Burmese forces are harassing our civilians just like BSF is doing.There is a seperate thread for discussing Indian issue but no thread for discussing these issues with Myanmar.So I think there is a need to open a thread like this.

This does not mean we divert our attention from Indian policies.But it means we keep our eyes on both India and Myanmar.As you have probably read that India had supplied arms to Myanmar recently.

About voting AL,the last time they were in power,I was not old enough to see their actual face.But I saw BNP and what corruption they did.So I though it would be better voting AL for a change.I am sure this is the same story with many first time voters.This does not mean I am involved in active politics of AL.

About knowing Islam,I am sure you know more than me and I do not even claim that I know more than you.I am yet learning.But at least I request you to follow the "Moderate path".Don't be so extreme that you lose your decency.

About war criminals,we will see what happens to them in court.If they are innocent then they should be given compensation but if they are proven guilty then they should be punished.

I hope you will now understand why I opened the thread.

What kind of frigates do the Burmese have?We got antiques for naval defence mind you.Back in '08 I thought we would retreat during the oil installation stand off.The incident was kind of morale boosting for us but I think Myanmar would be acquiring better stronger ships in the future.

do we have coastal artillery batteries btw?

Your juvenile fantasies and indo-awami branded intention exposed time and over again. Yet you are shamelessly trying to push a lesser important agenda to musk the bigger one. Indians are creating problems not only directly but also indirectly.

Your posting has so far substantiated only to some big bold red letters and some demented juvie thinking. Defense is not simple buying arms and confrontation, it involves mature strategic and political insight; which is way out of your league. Perhaps, you should stick to harry potter.

When did you get license to issue threat to people in the forum? This is not bd mil so act accordingly.

Myanmar do not have any worthy frigate class ship. Their navy is far weaker than BD navy. Thats why intention of this fantasy thread has been questioned.

Myanmar Integrated Air Defense System.

The Myanmar Air Force established Myanmar Integrated Air Defense System (MIADS) with help from Russia, Ukraine and China in early 2000. All Air Defense assets within the Myanmar Air Force, except the Anti-Aircraft Artillery (AAA) are formally integrated into MIADS. AAA guns are mostly unguided and deploy to use in barrage-style firing against attacking aircraft.

Under the newly formed air defense system, the country was divided into Six Air Defense sectors, each controlled by a Sector Operations Command (SOC) reporting directly to the National Air Defense Operations Command (NADOC) Headquarter in Yangon. Each SOC transmits early-warning and tracking data to Air Intercept Operations Centers (AIOC), which in turn control mobile Surface to Air Missiles batteries and Fighter/Interceptor aircraft at various air bases throughout the country. IOCs are optimized to direct either SAM or interceptor aircraft against incoming missiles or enemy aircraft. Each IOC is connected to observation and early warning area reporting posts (RP) via Defense Fiber Optic Cable network. There are around 100+ radars and early warning systems located in approximately 40 sites throughout the country. New Air Defense radars such as 1L117 radars, Galaxy Early Warning Radar and P series radars are now installed and full operational at all radar stations.

With the introduction of new radar systems and Mobile Guided Surface to Air Missiles systems, MIADS become of the most advanced AD systems in the region. Many young officers from The Myanmar Air Force have attended several Air Defense Training courses in Russia, Ukraine, China and Serbia.

WHO WILL WIN IN A WAR SITUATION? (Bangladesh or Myanmar)

@idune
@M_Saint
@leonblack08

Dear Sirs,

I would like to say something on this thread, from the point of view of Bangladesh' interests, and the possibility of threats from Burma, as well as steps which can be taken, on the diplomatic and administrative fronts as well as on the military fronts. However, since I am an Indian, it may be that my views are suspect in your eyes. While this is a free forum, and I have great respect for the moderators' demonstrated tolerance for dissenting or for contrarian views, I do not wish to intervene if it is felt to be interfering in an internal matter, or if it is felt to be with perhaps concealed hostile intent. Please be sure that my objectives are a neutral and transparent threat analysis and a consequential package of steps to be taken on various fronts.

Please let me know - I am addressing myself especially to idune and to M_Saint - if you will support my posting, whether or not you agree with it. If I have your support, I shall go ahead.

with sincere regards,

'Joe S'

OK, thanks for taking reconciliatory path and I'll reciprocate it with a similar one, my little brother. Now let me explain you why I'm not half as bothered by Nasaka, Burmese-Army's oppression of our civilians, Rohingas as oppose to Maleau arrogance of super power-ship. We are geographically encircled by IND from three sides and our only gateway to be connected with ASEAN countries along with outside world is Burma. So, for our own good, we have to be nice and even give more for now just to gain something meaningful on later. But that doesn't mean that I'm asking GOB to accept Burmese unjust killings. OTH FUA, MUA's drama on picking fight with Burmese was also uncalled for. Now, let's talk about IND's supplying arms to Burma. It reminded me the incident of ISRO's selling arms to Iranians secretly whereas the entire West was helping Saddam to crash Ayatollahs in Iran-Iraq war. So what did it infer it to you? Wasn't it like Bangla saying 'Sapke o doud dei abar Bhag keo doud dei' (Feeding two enemies to put it each-other's neck)? Zionist IND is the threat of global peace right now that doesn't have any moral and replicate everything ISRO does. For its interest it had used Iran against Kashmiris for years in OIC but lately voted against Iranian in Security Council just to get the NUKE deal signed by Uncle. Expansionist IND ate up Sikim, Junaghara, Portion of Kashmir and lately changed regime in BD. Today's phony war-criminal's trial is nothing but would be Indian staged drama, where real justice would die and fake one like RAWAMY landslide victory would prevail. I said it not too long ago even in this forum. Please wait to see if it doesn't come to fruition. It will take hours of writing why RAWAMY LEAGUE can easily get away with such crude lie and unjust killings but if you are a truth seeker then Allah will help you to find the truth. BTW I had a shameful history of hanging out with RAWAMY dalals for years and even participated in Shibir hotaoing from campus but next morning when I saw damn lies in Awamy run news papers, I was brought to my conscience. Since then, it was a long journey toward finding truth. At this moment, no one will ever make me to scream Sultan-Mansor in Daksu campus anymore since I'm grown up and know Joy Bangla is not to bring joy for us. And hope that you will understand that Burmese military threat is insignificant for real patriots. Infect I want it to remain as a potent one through Chinese prism but not by Malu's one, so Rawamy crime/arrogance could be checked.

well you see we had a stand off last year with the Burmese not the Indians.From the looks of it their military overall is more powerful than ours,yes it is it seems at least to me.
Recently their Nasaka drove out our fishermen from our OWN waters and our Coast Guard did nothing("They are shooting so we can't go there").
Nasaka attacks BD fishermen

Like Leon said with such mentality how can you even think of standing up to someone such as India?

Our problems with Myanmar are the same as those with India.Border problems both in land and sea.

Thanks for understanding.

Yes Myanmar threat is insignificant when compared to Indian threat in the form of Farakka,Tipaimukh and more,but it is a threat nevertheless,unless we take action to make them friends,they will be a threat to us.

What we should do is keep our eyes open on all the front.But the problem is our Govt. does not think in the same way as we think.And you know how they think.

And sorry for earlier rudeness.sometimes I do lose my cool.

And do you think that having greater volume of trade with Burma will help us bargain when we will be discussing disputed territory with them?Let me remind you those area are expected to be rich in oil and gas.So you see no one will leave their share.

WHO WILL WIN IN A WAR SITUATION? (Bangladesh or Myanmar)

Max,there are conflicting reports regarding Bangladeshi Mig-29 number.Some say its 16 but majority says its 8.

So all those number in terms of equipment can not lead to any conclusion.
The bottom line is Bangladesh needs to spend more in terms of procuring better equipment and better training.
