Battle of Badr, 624 AD

The Ghazwa-e-Badr or battle of Badr has been described as one of the most important battles in Islamic history. And for good reason. Its outcome transformed the Muslims from a marginal religious movement to political contenders on the western coast of Arabia.

And already had Allah given you victory at Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah ; perhaps you will be grateful. (3:123-127)

That battle elevated the participants to such esteem, when Hatim bin Abi balta sent the letter to Quresh about imminent muslim advance, and got intercepted, he was pardoned.despite it was breach in security. The Prophet SW said (not exact) that for Badr Allah has already pardoned all the sins of the participants.
